It is your resposibility to be sure that your air coditioer: Has bee properly istalled accordig to the Istallatio Istructios provided. Is the right size for the area you wat to cool.. Is properly coected to a grouded electrical circuit that meets the electrical requiremets as stated i the Istallatio Istructios. Is used oly for the job it was iteded to do.. Is ot used by childre or ayoe uable to operate it properly. Is properly maitaied. Remove the eergy label. Lift oe edge of the eergy ratig label ad pull straight off. Use a damp cloth to take off ay glue residue. Do Not use ay sharp istrumet or ay harsh or abrasive cleaers. Do Not use rubbig alcohol or flammable toxic solvets; such as acetoe, gasolie, carbo tetrachloride, etc. Eergy-savig tips. m Improve home isulatio. Seal doors ad widows. Close fireplace flue. Close blids or drapes o suy side of house. Add widow awigs. m Keep air filter clea.. Do Not block air flow with drapes or furiture. m Vetilate attic. Complete all of the Istallatio Istructios to prevet product operatig problems ad possible persoal ijury. m Read all operatig istructios before usig air coditioer. I Do Not store or use gasolie or other flammable vapors ad liquids i the viciity of this or ay other appliace. The fumes ca create fire hazard or explosio. m Use oly a properly grouded electrical outlet. Check with a qualified electricia if you are i doubt as to whether the air coditioer is properly grouded. Do Not modify the plug o the power cord. If it will ot fit the outlet, have a proper outlet istalled by a qualified electricia.. Do Not use a extesio cord. I Do Not have a fuse i the eutral or groudig circuit. Save these istructios Startig your air coditioer. 1. Set the Exhaust Cotrol to the Closed positio. This positio will provide for maximum coolig. 2. Set the System Cotrol to the desired settig. Suggestios are as follows: Lo Cool - for sleepig comfort Med Cool - for ormal coolig Hi Cool - for maximum coolig Fa Oly - for air circulatio without coolig. 3. Set the Thermostat Cotrol to umber 6. You ca adjust the coolig performace by resettig the Thermostat Cotrol to a higher umber for more coolig or to a lower umber for less coolig. You will eed to experimet to fid the settig which you prefer. Note: If you tur your air coditioer off, wait at least three miutes before turig it back o. The amout of time to wait is prited o your cosole. YOU may blow the fuse i the fuse box or trip the circuit breaker if you Do Not follow these istructios. I Usig special features... Cover motor, electrical cotrol box ad compressor electrical termials to prevet water or other liquids from gettig ito these areas whe cleaig ad maitaiig air coditioer.. Do Not drik ay water that collects withi air coditioer. This water is ot saitary.. Do Not use cleaig fluids, solvets, abrasive cleaers, or strog detergets. Such use may damage air coditioer parts.. More tha oe perso is required to lift the air coditioer because of its weight ad size. Set System Cotrol to the Uit Off positio. Discoect power supply cord from electrical outlet. 2. Remove air coditioer from widow. 3. Press dow o the top edge of frot pael util it releases from the cabiet. Pull frot pael toward you. Lift up ad away from bottom sprig clips Slide curtais out to fullest width. Remove 4 Phillips-head screws that attach curtais to cabiet.(a) Remove slotted-hex head screws from top chael (B) ad sides (C) of cabiet. Hold the cabiet o both sides ad carefully lift cabiet off of air coditioer. Wrap the motor, electrical cotrol box ad compressor termial box i plastic film to make sure o water or other liquid ca get iside. Water or other liquids could damage isulatio ad cause serious mechaical problems. Carefully clea ad hose out the base, coils ad codesate pas. The areas listed may eed to be cleaed more frequetly especially if you otice a odor comig from the air coditioer. Remove plastic film from motor ad electrical parts. h 11. Reistall cabiet over sir coditioig uit usig all the slotted-hex head screws. 12. Reistall the slide curtais usig the Phillips-head screws. 13. Replace the frot pael. Wait 24 hours before startig the air coditioer agai. This will give time for all areas to dry completely. serial label umber 10. Oil the fa motor as istructed o the motor. Remove the oil hole plug at each ed of the motor to add oil. A easy-to-use oil capsule is available from local service ceters or you ca use SA.E X20 odeterget oil. Replace plugs ito each ed of the motor.

Power cord is plugged ito a live circuit with proper voltage. Firmly plug power cord ito electrical outlet. Check circuit voltage at fuse/ circuit breaker box.. System cotrol is tured o. Tur System Cotrol to a Cool positio.. Thermostat cotrol is set at a high eough umber to cause the air coditioer to ru. Fuse has blow or circuit breaker has tripped. Also check to see if a time-delay fuse is beig used. Set Thermostat Cotrol to a higher umber. Replace fuse with a time-delay fuse of the correct capacity. Reset circuit breaker. Air coditioer blows fuses or trips circuit breaker. Air coditioer turs o ad off or does ot cool room.. Correct type ad ampere fuse is used. Use a time-delay fuse with the correct ampere capacity.. A extesio cord is beig used. Do Not use a extesio cord.. You waited 3 miutes after turig air coditioer off before attemptig to restart. Filter is clea.. Evaporator (iside) ad codeser coils are clea.. Excessive moisture or heat from cookig or showers is i coolig area. Wart at least 3 miutes before restartig air coditioer. Follow the filter cleaig istructios i this Guide. Follow the aual maiteace istructios i this Guide. Use exhaust vetig fas to remove moisture or heat from coolig area.. Fa settig is too low. Set fa settig to a higher speed. m Thermostat settig is at high eough umber to cause the air coditioer to cool room. Set Thermostat Cotrol to a higher umber. Normal operatig souds. You ca expect to hear the followig souds whe your air coditioer is operatig:. Droplets of water hittig the codeser causig a pigig or clickig soud. Water from ormal operatio or raifall does ot harm compoets, so you should ot be cocered.. Air movemet from the fa occurs especially at high fa-speed settigs. Vibratio souds ca be caused by wall costructio or moutig for the air coditioer.

Cleaig the air coditioer frot pael ad filter regularly, every two weeks, will help to esure loger life ad lower operatig costs. The filter helps to remove dust, lit ad other particles from the air. Discoect power supply cord before startig cleaig process. 1. Press dow o the top edge of frot pael util it releases from the cabiet. 3. Remove elastic bad from the back side of the frot pael. Remove filter. 4. Use vacuum cleaer to remove dust. If the filter is very dirty, wash filter i warm water usig a mild deterget. The filter should air dry before you replace it. Do ot use a hair dryer to dry the filter. 5. Use a soft cloth soaked i warm water with mild deterget to clea the frot pael. Rise the frot pael ad dry. Clea the cotrol area with a soft dry cloth. 6. Place filter i back of frot pael. Replace elastic bad. 7. Put bottom of frot pael ito sprig clips. Press dow o top edge of frot pael ad push pael toward uit. Sap frot pael tabs ito place i cabiet.
