BUTTONS AND MENUS UP Butto DOWN butto fc butto Set poit butto Scrolls through the meu items Icreases the values Activates maual defrostig Scrolls through the meu items Decreases the values Parameter programmable ESC fuctio (quit) Parameter programmable Accesses the set poit Accesses the Meus Cofirms the commads Displays the alarms (if active) At start-up the istrumet performs a Lamp Test; the display ad LEDs flash for a few secods to check that they are workig correctly. The istrumet has two mai meus: the Machie Status meu ad the Programg meu. ACCESSING AND USING MENUS The resources are arraged i a meu that ca be accessed by pressig ad quickly releasig the set butto (Machie Status meu) or holdig dow the set butto for more tha 5 secods (Programg meu). To access the cotets of each folder idicated by the relevat label, just press the set butto oce. You ca ow scroll through the cotets of each folder, modify it or use its fuctios. If you do ot use the keyboard for over 5 secods (time-out) or press the fc butto oce, the last value show o the display is cofirmed ad you are take back to the previous scree mask. LEDS fc set MACHINE STATUS MENU To access the Machie Status meu, press the set butto ad quickly release it If o alarms are preset, the label SEt appears. By usig the UP ad DOWN buttos you ca scroll through the other folders i the meu: -AL: alarm folder (if preset, icludig HACCP alarms; see paragraph); -Pb: probe value folder; -SEt: Setpoit settig folder. Set settig Access the Machie Status meu, press the set butto ad quickly release it. The Set folder label appears. To display the Set poit value, press the set butto agai. The Set poit value appears o the display. To chage the Set poit value, use the UP ad DOWN buttos withi 5 secods. If the parameter is LOC = y the Set poit caot be chaged. Alarm o If a alarm coditio exists whe the Machie Status meu is accessed, the AL folder label appears (see Diagostics sectio). Displayig probes If you press the set butto whe the correspodig label appears, the value of the probe associated with it is displayed. PROGRAMMING MENU To access the Programg meu, hold the set butto for more tha 5 secods. If specified, the level access PASSWORD will be requested (see parameter PA ) ad (if the password is correct) the label of the first folder will appear. If the password is icorrect, the display will show the PA label agai. Use the UP ad DOWN buttos to scroll through the other folders; the folders cotai level ad level parameters. The level parameters ca be protected by a secod password (see PA parameter). If specified, level parameters are hidde to Positio Associated fuctio Status Compressor or relay ON for compressor o; blikig for delay, delay or eablig blocked Defrostig ON whe defrostig i progress; blikig whe activated maually or with digital iput the user; whe accessig the CF folder the level access PASSWORD will be requested ad (if the correct password is etered) the label of the first folder i the programg meu will appear. To eter the folder, press set. The label of the first visible parameter will appear. To scroll through the other parameters, use the UP ad DOWN buttos. To chage the parameter, press ad release set, the set the desired value usig the UP ad DOWN buttos ad cofirm with the set butto. Move o to the ext parameter. PLEASE NOTE: We strogly recommed that you switch the istrumet off ad o agai each time parameter cofiguratio is chaged i order to prevet malfuctioig of the cofiguratio ador ogoig tigs. PASSWORD Passwords PA ad PA allow level ad level parameters to be accessed. There are o passwords i the stadard cofiguratio. To eable them ad assig them the desired value, access the Programg meu i the dis folder. If passwords are eabled, they will be requested: - PA whe eterig the Programg meu (see the Programg Meu sectio); - PA i the Cf folder cotaiig the level parameters. ACTIVATING MANUAL DEFROST CYCLE To activate the defrost cycle maually, press the UP butto (if cofigured =) for 5 secods. If the right defrostig coditios are ot preset (the temperature of the evaporator probe is higher tha the ed of defrost temperature, for example) or parameter OdO, the display will flash three (3) times to idicate that the operatio will ot be performed. USING THE COPY CARD The Copy Card is a accessory coected to the TTL serial port used for quick programg of the uit parameters (upload ad dowload parameter map to oe or more uits of the same type). Operatios are described below: Alarm ON for active alarm; blikig for sileced alarm

2 Format This commad ca be used to format the copy card. This operatio must be performed whe it is used for the first time or used with models that are ot compatible. Warig: whe the copy card has bee programmed, all the data etered is cacelled whe the Fr parameter is used. This operatio caot be udoe. Upload This operatio uloads the programg parameters from the istrumet. Dowload This operatio dowloads the programg parameters to the istrumet. These operatios are performed by accessig the folder with the FPr label ad selectig the UL, dl or Fr commads. The operatio is cofirmed by pressig the set butto. If the operatio is successful, a y is displayed whereas if it is usuccessful a will be displayed. Dowload from reset Coect the copy card with the istrumet OFF. Whe the istrumet is switched o the programg parameters will be dowloaded ito the copy card; whe the lamp test has bee completed, the followig appear o the display for about 5 secods: label dly if copy operatio is successful label DL if operatio fails PLEASE NOTE: after dowloadig, the istrumet will work with the parameter map settigs that have just bee dowloaded. DISTANCE-MANAGED SYSTEMS The Televis remote cotrol systems ca be coected usig the TTL serial port (the TTL RS-485 BUS ADAPTER iterface module must be used). To cofigure the istrumet to do this, you eed to access the Add folder ad use the dea ad FAA parameters. KEYBOARD LOCKED Keyboard operatig ca be locked by programg the Loc parameter (see folder with dis table). If the keyboard is locked you ca always access the Programg MENU by pressig the set butto. The Set poit ca also be displayed. DIAGNOSTICS The alarm coditio is always sigalled by a buzzer (if preset) ad the alarm ico LED. N.B.: If alarm exclusio times are ruig (see the parameter table, ALARM sectio with AL label), the alarm is ot sigalled. The alarm sigal geerated by a faulty probe (probe ), appears directly o the istrumet display as E. Table of faulty probes DISPLAY E FAULT Faulty probe (thermostat cotrol) A error coditio i probe (thermostat cotrol) causes the followig: E code appears o display compressor is activated as idicated by Ot ad Oft parameters if these are programmed for duty cycle or: Ot > > Oft > > Other alarms do ot appear o the istrumet display but ca be see i the Machie Status meu i the AL folder. MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM TEMPERA- TURE ALARM If a alarm coditio occurs ad alarm exclusio times are ot ruig (see alarm exclusio parameters), the alarm ico lights up permaetly ad the relay cofigured as a alarm is activated. This type of alarm does ot affect the regulatig i progress. Alarms are cosidered as absolute values. The maximum ad imum temperature alarm is regulated accordig to the thermostat cotrol probe The temperature limits are defied by the HAL (maximum alarm) ad LAL (imum alarm) parameters. This alarm coditio ca be viewed i the folder AL with the labels AH-AL. DISPLAY AH AL EA OPd Compressor output OFF OFF ON D.C. The alarms are absolute values or related to the set poit (the distace from the set poit itself) ad based o the Att parameter. HACCP To meet the imum requiremets of the HACCP regulatios, a series of dedicated parameters record ad log the high ad low alarms (for the thermostat cotrol probe) that occur durig ormal operatig of the device. If preset, these parameters ca be displayed i the AL folder. I additio to the alarms, these parameters also record ay black-outs suffered by the device by recordig the ber of power failures sice the last machie reset. Alarm maagemet for the HACCP fuctio is effected idepedetly by the rest of the cotrollers. ALARM LOGGING DURING NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS Each HACCP alarm cosists of two folders (displayed uder the alarm folder AL if the alarms are preset): HC* ( = 8) cotaiig the maximum or imum temperature reached beyod bad limits; tc* ( = 8) cotaiig the time that the thermostat cotrol probe is beyod the bad limits. * is a progressive ber betwee ad 8 that idicates the ber of times the thermostat cotrol probe has detected temperature values exceedig the bad limits preset by the parameters SHH ad SLH. The temperatures will be logged i the 8 folders HC...HC8 ad the holdig time i the 8 folders tc...tc8. HC folder ( = 8) If you press the ENTER butto, the maximum (imum) value displayed by the thermostat cotrol probe beyod (below) the limit preset by the SHH ( SLH ) parameter is displayed. tc folder ( = 8) press the ENTER butto to display the period of time that the thermostat cotrol probe was beyod the bad limits defied by SHH ad SLH parameters, if it has already retured withi the limit or the time elapsed so far, with imum resolutio of oe ute. NOTE: The first 8 HACCP alarms are logged sequetially whe the folders HC...HC8 ad tc...tc8 appear. The subsequet alarms (>8) will overwrite the previous alarms startig with HC (tc). Whe the limit of 8 evets is exceeded, the HC8 (tc8) folder flashes o ad off. Video display Whe the value of the mai temperature (thermostat cotrol) probe exceeds the bad defied by parameters SHH ad SLH for loger tha dra (cautio: they ca be absolute or relative values depedig o parameter Att ) the alarm is geerated ad a LED lights up permaetly. If preset, the iteral buzzer ad the alarm relay are also switched o. If you press ay butto o the uit, the ID 96 LX HACCP 7

3 alarm LED flashes to idicate that the alarm has bee read by the user. Whe the probe value returs withi the permitted bad, the LED will remai i the coditio it was i previously (permaetly o or blikig) to sigal the evet. NOTE: To prevet false HACCP alarms, alarm exclusio times are used (see table of parameters, ALARMSHACCP sectio, especially par. dao, H5) ALARM LOGGING AFTER A BLACK OUT If a reset evet occurs (machie blackout), two ew folders are geerated i the AL folder i order to assess the coditios of the power source correctly: bc ( = 8)*; bt ( = 8)*; * is a ber betwee ad 8 that idicates the ber of machie resets. bc folder temperature value that is withi the bad limits preset by the values SLH ad SHH followig a black out, this folder will cotai this value (ad the bt folder will cotai the value zero). value that exceeds the permitted temperature rage, a HACCP alarm is geerated The maximum (or imum) value reached by the thermostat cotrol probe is logged i this folder. bt folder temperature value that is withi the bad limits preset by the values SLL ad SHH followig a black out, this folder will cotai the value zero. value that exceeds the permitted temperature rage, a HACCP alarm is geerated The period of time that the thermostat cotrol probe remais out of bad limits will be logged i the same way as for ormal operatig i this folder. Video display If there are more tha 8 (eight) black out evets, folder bc8 flashes ad the subsequet evets are recorded startig with folders bc(bt). RESET FUNCTION The RES fuctio (HACCP reset) maually cacels the HACCP alarms ad ca be associated with a butto (see parameters H3 H33; set to 4 to reset) with a delay set by parameter H. The RES fuctio cacels the folders HC, tc, bc, bt (= 8) ad resets the drh parameter (the couter starts). The alarm LED remais off whereas the display flashes to idicate that the parameter has bee reset. After a period of time set by parameter drh (if ot ) after the last reset, all the HACCP alarms are automatically deleted. If the machie is subjected to aother black-out i this period, the couter will be reset with the value preset with parameter drh ad the ext automatic reset will occur whe this value has bee reached. NOTE: Whe the uit is switched o for the first time, ay alarms must be maually deleted usig this fuctio. MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY The uit has bee desiged to be paelmouted: Drill a 9x7 mm hole, isert a tool ad fix it i place with the brackets provided. Do ot assemble the istrumet i excessively humid or dirty locatios sice it is desiged to be used i locatios havig lowmoderate pollutio. Always make sure that the area ext to the uit coolig slits is adequately vetilated. ELECTRICAL WIRING Attetio! Always switch off machie before workig o electrical coectios. The istrumet has screw terals for coectig electrical cables with a diameter of,5 mm max. (oly oe coductor per teral for power coectios). for teral capacity, see the label o the istrumet. The relay cotacts are voltage free. Do ot exceed the maximum curret allowed. For higher loads, use a suitable cotactor. Make sure that the power voltage complies with the device voltage. I the V powered versios, power must be supplied by way of a safety trasformer protected by a 5 ma delayed fuse. Probes have o coectio polarity ad ca be exteded usig a ordiary bipolar cable (ote that if probes are exteded this affects the electromagetic compatibility (EMC) of the istrumet: special care must be used whe wirig). Probe cables, power supply cables ad the TTL serial cable should be kept separate from power cables. CONDITIONS OF USE PERMITTED USE For safety reasos the istrumet must be istalled ad used i accordace with the istructios supplied. Users must ot be able to access parts with dagerous voltage levels uder ormal operatig coditios. The device must be suitably protected from water ad dust accordig to the specific applicatio ad oly be accessible usig special tools (except for the frot keypad). The device ca be fitted to equipmet for household use ador similar use i the refrigeratio sector ad has bee tested with regard to safety i accordace with the Europea harmoized referece stadards. It is classified as follows: as a automatic electroic cotrol device to be idepedetly mouted as regards its costructio; as a B type operated cotrol device as regards its automatic operatig features; as a Class A device as regards the category ad structure of the software. UNPERMITTED USE The use of the uit for applicatios other tha those described is forbidde. It should be oted that the relay cotacts supplied with the device are fuctioal ad therefore exposed to potetial faults. Ay protectio devices required to comply with product requiremets or dictated by commo sese due to obvious safety reasos should be istalled exterally.
