1 Wallace Emerson Park and Centre BMX AND SKATEBOARDING FACILITY FEEDBACK Galleria Developments, with the City of Toronto s Parks, Forestry and Recreation Division, is preparing a master plan for Wallace Emerson Park. Feedback is being collected from neighbours immediately on the edges of the new park. We would like to hear neighbours comments on the future location, conceptual design, and management opportunities for the BMX and Skatboarding facility to be provided in the park. 6 The Future BMX/Skateboarding Facility The future BMX/Skateboarding component of the park will be a concrete (or similar) facility. The future design will seek to integrate the concrete (or similar) facility with topography and vegetation, mitigating potential impacts of noise and light. The BMX/Skateboarding facility will not be accessible during the colder months as ice skating will occur on the surrounding path. 9 Past concerns of noise, light and anti-social behaviour have been resolved in the new location and conceptual design by: 1. Providing greater setbacks to the facility from the park edges 2. Locating the facility close to the new Centre and on a key pedestrian path 3.
