2 WELCOME Still Creek Community Garden, 4410 Kaslo Stre, is being considered as a location for approximately 50 units of Temporary Modular Housing. The City and Park Board investigated alternative sites for relocation of the community garden within 1200m of the existing site. Slocan Park was identified as the preferred location. Principles for selecting a new site: Proximity to existing garden The garden should be located close by to continue to build a sense of community within the neighbourhood. Accessibility The garden should be inclusive for everyone - all ages and abilities. Access to transit The garden should be easily accessible by all modes of transportation. Sunlight The garden should be in a location with optimal growing conditions. Proposed Garden Site Safy The garden should be in a location that always feels safe - from dusk to dawn.

3 About Still Creek Garden Since 2011, Still Creek Community Garden has operated as a pesticide-free community garden. Still Creek Garden has: 45 garden beds 7 accessible plots 2 beehives 40 gardeners working to maintain the garden A charity donation bed and communal berry and herb beds A small seating area If you would like more information about how to g involved in the garden, please contact stillcreekcommunitygarden@gmail.com or find the garden on Facebook at still creek community garden. Urban Agriculture in Parks Woodland Community Garden, Summer 2016 There are over 24 community gardens on Park Board land, shared growing edible landscaping permaculture projects totalling over a thousand plots as well as other asss including collaborative garden plots, pollinator plantings, mason bee lodges, apiaries, educational gardens, arts and culture based pollinator gardens community gardens gardens, and food trees. URBAN AGRICULTURE community orchards Each garden operates through a license agreement bween the Park Board and the community group responsible, and each garden remains open to the public.
