Deliverable TR 2. This item A new TR CEN/TC 136/SC 1/WG 17 - Frame for the competence of Playground Inspectors 4. Title Playground and recreational areas - requirements for quality of inspections and competence of inspectors 5. Scope This frame forms a guideline for the education, examination and evaluation of the competence of inspectors of public playground environments. For each specific task an inspector may need to perform; this guideline describes the knowledge and experience the inspector needs and also sets out the basic level of knowledge required The standard EN & 7 details the different types or levels of inspections required to help provide a play environment that is suitable for children to play in. The different types of inspections demand different levels of knowledge and experience; these are: - Routine Visual inspection - Operational inspection - Annual main inspection - Post Installation Inspection As well as these inspections identified in the standard there are also

11 other inspections that are useful in helping to ensure the safe operation of a play environment: - post-accident investigation In this guideline there is a broad explanation of what these inspections are and how they should be performed. This guideline is not intended for certification bodies. DDD Page 11 Due to the variety of items that can be encountered in the playground environment this guideline can be used for the following equipment: Playground equipment EN 1176 part 1-11 Skateboard infrastructures EN Free access Multi Sport equipment EN Adventure Playgrounds Outdoor Exercise Equipment DIN79000 Parkour equipment As well as the equipment mentioned in this guideline other items that are on and around the play environment may need to be assessed depending on their interaction with the play environment where users can access these features for informal play e.g. gates, fences, plants, natural play features, rocks, boulders landscape features, art features, etc. Because there features are not encompassed within the standard for playground equipment these items will require risk assessment; but knowledge of the meaning and intention of the standard forms a vital part of this risk assessment This guideline is not intended for: EN 71 Toys EN High Ropes EN14960 Inflatable Equipment The inspector s task is to assess the general level of safety of the play environment and the equipment provided based on the safety level as it was on inauguration of the equipment. The format of the inspection and the report which will form the outcome of the inspection will be defined between the provider of the inspection and the client (owner/operator) The owner/operator should be advised to make a detailed specification so that there is a minimal chance of confusion on the content of the task.. 6. 13 Page 13 CEN/TC 140/WG 3 - Quality management in the medical laboratory 4. Title Molecular in vitro diagnostic examinations Specifications for preexamination processes for saliva Isolated DNA 5. Scope This Technical Specification recommends the handling, documentation, storage and processing of saliva specimens intended for human DNA examination during the preexamination phase before a molecular assay is performed. This Technical Specification is applicable to molecular in vitro diagnostic examinations including laboratory developed tests performed by medical laboratories. It is also intended to be used by laboratory customers, in vitro diagnostics developers and manufacturers, but also pertains institutions and commercial organizations performing biomedical research, biobanks, and regulatory authorities. A standardization of the entire process from specimen collection to the DNA examination is needed due to DNA degradation and fragmentation after saliva collection. Therefore, special measures need to be taken to secure good quality saliva samples for (genomic) DNA examination. This is particularly relevant for analytical test procedures requiring high molecular weight DNA. Studies have been undertaken to determine the important influencing factors. This International Standard draws upon such to codify and standardize the steps for saliva DNA examination in what is referred to as the pre-examination phase. Pathogen DNA present in saliva is not covered by this Technical Specification. Cell-free saliva DNA is not covered by this Technical Specification. NOTE International, national or regional regulations or requirements may also apply to specific topics covered in this Technical Specification. 6. Environmental aspects aspects? 8. Scope The proposed Part 4 of the Standard on energy efficiency index (EEI) of pump units focusses on multistage submersible pump units for boreholes. These are a special type of single pump units, i.e. they consist of a hydraulic and of an electric part. Compared to single pump units treated in Part 2, multistage submersible pump units for boreholes are characterized by the special design of their hydraulic part and of their electric motor. Both are adapted to have a small as possible outer diameter. Furthermore, the motors used as drives are very different from standard dry motors and show various features, for instance they are operated filled with liquid. From these reasons, their attainable efficiencies are well below the minimum required values of standard asynchronous motors. Operation of multistage submersible pump units at fixed speed as well as in combination with a frequency converter at variable speed is in use. Multistage submersible pump units have dependent on their type of application typically other flow-time profiles and - in the case of controlled variable speed other pressure control curves than those defined in Part 2 of the Standard. Also the typical application in boreholes requires further special design and operation features as the integration of a non-return valve and often relatively long electric cables from ground down to the pump drive. Part 4 will give special definitions (e.g. reference flow-time profiles, reference pressure control curves and the reference electric power input) that have to be applied when determining the energy efficiency index (EEI) of multistage submersible pump units. Also Part 4 will describe two methods and procedures how to determine the energy efficiency index (EEI) of multistage submersible pump units in the frame of qualification or verification. One of the methods consists of testing the complete pump unit and of corresponding evaluations. The alternative method uses a so-called semi-analytical (i.e. mathematical) model (SAM) of the respective type of multistage submersible pump unit and is a specialization of the model and method described in Part 2 of the Standard for other types of single pump units. 6.
