Wawa, Media, PA - Oversaw and managed the electrical design and construction for a 250,000 square foot, corporate campus expansion including the design of new 35kV, electrical service entrance equipment line-up, electric utility coordination and protective relaying controls; 35kV to 13.2kV, unit substation; new 13.2kV, distribution loop; 2.5MW, 13.2kV, diesel, optional stand-by generator and PLC controlled, 15kV, automatic transfer scheme; life-safety generators, transfer switches and distribution systems; lighting, fire alarm, tele-data, security, and associated electrical systems including a fit out of two new buildings, garage and of existing building space. Pfizer, Chesterfield, MO - Oversaw the design and construction of a 62,000 square foot, Bioscience Pilot Plant expansion that was completed ahead of schedule and below the schematic design construction budget. Design included new 13.2kV service feeder to building; 13.2kV to 480 volt substation with a PLC controlled, main-tie-main, automatic transfer switch scheme setup; new electrical distribution to process area, HVAC equipment and distribution to the process power and control equipment; lighting, tele-data, security, audio visual and associated electrical systems including a fit out of process suite and associated support spaces. The project required close coordination with the process engineers who designed the process suite equipment, bioreactors; distiller skids located in the new Pilot Plant. Baxter, Cherry Hill, NJ - Oversaw the design and construction for the relocation of a pharmaceutical printing facility and research HPLC laboratory, to a new 20,000 square foot, retrofitted warehouse area. Project included new flywheel UPS; 480 and 208 volt electrical distribution systems, for sensitive, HPLC equipment; lighting, fire alarm, tele-data, security, and associated electrical systems. 4 GlaxoSmithKline, King of Prussia, PA - Performed a power usage audit on the entire data center including all normal and critical and HVAC distribution systems. Oversaw the design and construction for the installation of a 1500kW generator; a 450kVA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and the upgrade to the HVAC systems to accommodate the additional UPS heat output. Shire US Manufacturing, Owings Mills, MD - Oversaw and managed the multi-phase, electrical design and construction including a 13.2kV, medium voltage, service entrance, switchgear line-up; new 480 and 208 volt switchboards and power distribution; lighting, fire alarm, tele-data, security, and associated electrical systems including a fit out of new warehouse and expanded cgmp space. GMP space included new V-Blender; new dispensaries and new material air lock and gowning areas. Abbott Laboratories, Whippany, NJ - Lead Electrical Project Engineer on a project that involved the relocation of a Sevoflurane filling line from a North Carolina facility to the Whippany, New Jersey facility. Project included new power distribution and control wiring for a new assembly line operation and new power distribution to the HVAC ventilation system. Coordinated closely with the Process Engineer to provide all of the necessary process control conduits, cables and HVAC interfacing as required. Assisted and oversaw lower level designers in the understanding and utilization of client technical standards, and procedures during the execution of this manufacturing project. Jeanes Hospital, Philadelphia, PA - Lead Electrical Project Engineer on a project that involved the conversion of an orthopedic operating suite (OR) to a catheterization operating suite. Project included new equipment branch and critical branch power distribution; new power distribution to the OR blood pumps; new line-isolation monitors (LIMS) and new power distribution to the HVAC ventilation system. Coordinated closely with the Architect to provide all of the necessary OR lighting, control conduits, cables and HVAC interfacing as required. Assisted and oversaw lower level designers in the understanding and utilization of health care technical standards, and procedures during the execution of this critical health facility project. B. Investigations Selected examples of Engineering Investigations and Remediation of malfunctioning or failed electrical systems. Dynegy Hanging Rock Energy Facility - Ironton, OH - Investigated the site for the cause and origin of the fire, explosion and unit trip at Dynegy's Hanging Rock Generating station on July 9, HWI / Core Realty, Inc - Pittsburgh, PA - Investigated the site for the cause and origin of the fire, explosion and switchgear destruction at the down town, 400 5th Avenue loss on July 30, Comfort Systems/Bush International Airport - Houston, TX - Investigated and provided a cost to replace report for an elevator loss due to accidental water discharge for a water loss at the Bush International Airport, in Houston, TX on September 14, WILLIAM J.
