22 Summary NOAA launched GOES-16 with the primary instrument Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI), which is providing three times more spectral information, four times the spatial resolution, and more than five times faster temporal coverage than the current GOES system. NOAA STAR CWG has developed an Instrument Performance Monitor (IPM) tool for GOES-16 ABI thermal IR band 7-16, providing an informative bands monitoring and trending, includes direct counts, gain, offset, NEdN, NEdT, etc., from the sample, detector, orbital, daily to life-time levels. CWG IPM and band striping identification tools support to identify IR Band midnight/noon gain jumping and bands striping on detector level. Overall, GOES-16 ABI IPM provides the quality monitoring and trending of IR bands and shows that GOES-16 ABI IR bands are stable, with ICT NEdT appears well within specification and comparable to prelaunch measurements.
