Our standard walkways and canopies are based on two modular designs: Clifton Walkway, Meadows School Paragon suitable for simple or complex structures from roof only to fully carpeted links Clifton a very versatile and cost effective system offering maximum flexibility Clifton Canopy and Kid 011 Seat, Studfall Infant School Paragon Entrance Canopy, Great Line Developments Within each range there is a wide choice of configurations covering spans, roof shapes, structural posts, glazing, services and accessories. By working with these modular systems we can offer the benefits of reduced costs and simplified specifications through the use of standardised components, sections and details. At Studfall Infant School we worked with the school to provide a quiet seating area in the playground under a canopy. We developed a mini version of our 011 range of seating and incorporated it under a canopy with stabilised UV polycarbonate. Angela Brinkman, Head Teacher for Studfall Infant School, commented: The seating has received favourable comments from parents who find the design, colour and comfort all very positive. Providing quiet seating areas in the playground helps us to contribute to the children s emotional well being at school, and as they are under a canopy it also promotes sun safety. Macemain + Amstad worked closely with BAA and TPS Consultants to provide a modern, functional paragon walkway for Gatwick Fastway, which was designed specifically to take account of the high security risks associated with an airport environment. The walkway incorporates an 80m x 3.2m faceted walkway and waiting area, with laminated glass. Blue polycarbonate was used as a roof infill to reduce glare and give corporate identify to the unit. 02

Our bespoke design service is available to clients for special projects, where a particularly sensitive environment or restricted location requires a unique solution.

We provided a unique solution to a challenging brief at Lancaster University, where a covered walkway was required to link University buildings.

4 Our bespoke design service is available to clients for special projects, where a particularly sensitive environment or restricted location requires a unique solution. We utilise computer-aided design throughout the design process to ensure consistency across even the most complex special project designs. We provided a unique solution to a challenging brief at Lancaster University, where a covered walkway was required to link University buildings. The brief was for a faceted and stepped walkway with an angled roof and restrictive fixings. Clifton Walkway, Lancaster University The low barrel Clifton system was utilised to overcome these problems. A detailed site survey was required to enable a 3D model to be created to achieve the final result. During this process, we and the client were able to see the 3D problems not easily visible in a 2D format, thus eliminating costly redesign and manufacture and enabling smooth installation. Paragon Walkway, National Farmers Union Macemain + Amstad undertook the design, manufacture and installation of 177m of glazed and roof only paragon walkway around the grounds of the National Farmer s Union. One of the most sensitive areas that we had to take into consideration was the angles of the unit and that part was up steps to the main entrance. Bespoke Canopy, Heathrow Airport 04
