2 The Green Team is a voluntary organisation, working with young people to improve and enjoy wild places. We offer a range of projects throughout the year carrying out practical conservation and having fun. Since 1995 over 4000 young people have been involved with the Green Team. Projects are run by volunteer leaders and Green Team staff. Working together, we improve the local environment for people and wildlife. The opportunities we offer enable young people to increase their understanding and appreciation of the natural world and global issues that can seem overwhelming to us as individuals. Participants learn about the countryside, gain confidence through working as part of a team and can achieve a range of awards. Other Green Team Programmes Green Champions is our employee volunteering programme, offering opportunities for staff to take part in environmental team challenges to improve their community green spaces. Green Schools offers single projects and programmes of activities to support school engagement in outdoor learning activities including the delivery of the John Muir Award. Holiday Activity Programmes offer outdoor environmental activities, nature exploration and bushcraft skills in some of the Lothian s most stunning countryside locations. Activities take place Monday Friday 9am - 5pm 4th - 8th April 18th - 22th July 1st - 5th August Cost 35 per day. To book contact the Green Team office. Safety: The Green Team has an excellent safety record and we take due care in delivering all our activities. We recognise there is an element of risk in all that we do and manage this accordingly. We work within the City of Edinburgh Council s Health and Safety guidelines and procedures. All volunteer leaders undergo training to gain the necessary qualifications to lead our projects and are registered through the PVG scheme. The Green Team has Public Liability Insurance which covers all its activities. There is limited cover for Personal Accident.
