7 WATER PROJECTS, WE SPECIALISE IN WATER SUPPLY, TREATMENT AND CONSERVATION... 4 Roscommon Regional Water Supply Schemes Kildare Water Strategy - Phase 1A & B Development of Water Services for Riga, Latvia Four separate regional water supply schemes in County Roscommon - Boyle / Ardcarne RWSS; Roscommon Central RWSS; South Roscommon RWSS; and Arigna RWSS. The Project includes the procurement, by DBO, of five water treatment plants and network upgrades and extensions at Lisbrock, Killeglan, Ballinagard, Rockingham and Ballyfarnon. We were employed to undertake the detailed design, procurement and construction supervision of 49km of both large diameter watermains ranging in size 400mm to 700mm and a 7,500m 3 distribution reservoir. The Practice was also appointed PSDP for the duration of the scheme. This scheme was divided into 4 seperate contracts. This project involved the rehabilitation / renewal of 32km of selected water transmission & supply mains, rehabilitation / renewal of 15km of selected sewers and construction of 27km of new wastewater collector sewers in Riga, the capital of Latvia and the extension of the networks into developing suburbs of the city. Parkwest Business Park 21 Office Buildings Mater Private Hospital - Ongoing Since 1986 RCSI School of Pharmacy 5 Storeys - 4,000 m 2 Park West is one of Ireland s largest office developments, consisting of 72 buildings in 4 sectors and includes a rail station. We have been involved with the project since it commenced in 1997 and to date have completed engineering services and construction supervision for the rail station and sectors 1 & 4 comprising 21 separate buildings. We have been providing services to the Mater Private Hospital since 1986: The original hospital building Operating theatre 5 & 6 Catherisation laboratory Day therapy & radiotherapy unit 6 storey West wing extension 2013 redevelopment including an additional 3 storeys, new theatres, consultant suites and a feature atrium The Pharmacy School for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland is a five storey above basement building of circa 4,000 m 2 located in Dublin City Centre. One of the key features on this project was the choice of a steel-framed superstructure which enabled the building to be completed and fitted out with the requisite equipment ahead of the planned program. 11 TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS, WE HAVE DELIVERED BRIDGES, NATIONAL PRIMARY ROADS & LOCAL ROADS... Motorway Service Areas M1 and M4 Motorways We were responsible for the master planning, design and development of several motorway service area facilities throughout the major inter urban road network. The service areas comprise facilities for motorists and their passengers, which provide extensive parking, fuel stations, sanitary welfare facilities, Garda enforcement areas and restaurant food/outlet facilities. A5 Western Transport Corridor - 86km We are Contractors Designer for section three of the A5. With a total length of 86km, the project is the longest single road scheme undertaken on the island of Ireland. It represents a major investment by the UK and Irish Governments to stimulate economic development & improve connectivity between Dublin and the north-west of Ireland. M3 Clonee to North of Kells 63 Km & 59 Bridges The M3 Clonee to Kells motorway scheme is one of the largest single road scheme projects to be constructed in the Irish state. The scheme includes some 63km of motorway together with 61km of associated local county and link roads. There were a total of 59 structures constructed together with 39 structural culverts. 12 BRIDGE PROJECTS, WE HAVE BEEN DESIGNING AWARD WINNING BRIDGES FOR OVER 40 YEARS... Wexford Bridge 383 Metre 7 Span Bridge River Boyne Bridge 114 Metre 3 Span Bridge Newcastle Bridge, Lucan 48 Metre 2 Span Bridge This is a 383m seven span steel arch bridge across the River Slaney in Wexford Town. The original prestessed concrete bridge was seriously defective with high levels of chloride, corroding reinforcement and prestessing anchors as well as spalling concrete. The bridge links 400km 2 of mainly rural hinterland to the principal town in the region. The M3 River Boyne Bridge is a 114m long three span structure crossing the River Boyne, South of Navan in Co Meath. The bridge is part of the M3 Clonee to Kells, 64km motorway constructed as a PPP by Eurolink. The brief required the bridge design to reflect the nature of the adjacent multispan 18 th century masonry arch Ballinter Bridge. The N4 Newcastle Overbridge is a 2 x 22.5m span structure, 24m wide, carrying the Newcastle Road over the N4 Lucan Bypass. The bridge forms part of a grade separated junction, removing the previous at grade signal controlled junction and giving a free flow route to traffic on the N4. NRA Road Safety Inspections Braemor Road Urban Renewal Scheme Stapolin Village, Baldoyle 123 HA Development We are one of 7 suppliers on the NRA s framework agreement for the delivery of Road Safety Inspections on the National Road Network in compliance with new EU directive which states that Member States shall carry out safety inspections on existing roads in order to identify the road safety related features and prevent accidents. This is a 1.6km urban renewal scheme to improve bus, pedestrian and cyclist facilities and reduce traffic speeds. The scheme includes, inter-alia, for the upgrading of cycle-ways, bus stops, footpaths, carriageway, landscaping, signage and road markings. The scheme significantly improves facilities for cyclists and pedestrians. Traffic consultants in the planning approval process for Stapolin Village, Baldoyle mixed use development. Duties performed include: Transportation Chapter of EIS Access roads & junctions Trip generation and traffic modelling Liaising with the Client & Local Authority on all transportation aspects. 16 FLOOD ANALYSIS, WE HAVE BEEN PROVIDING FLOOD ALLEVIATION DESIGN SERVICES FOR OVER 50 YEARS... River Fergus Ennis (Upper & Lower) Drainage Scheme Fingal / East Meath (FEM) FRAMS Flood Risk Assessment for the Oval Building (Eirgrid) The scheme is implemented in 2 phases, the Upper and Lower Drainage Scheme. The Upper scheme includes 1km of river walls, rehabilitation of Mill weir sluices, 3 no. surface water pumping stations, culverts & interceptor sewers. The Lower scheme includes walls, 3 no. surface water pumping stations, interceptor sewers & earth flood protection embankments. The FEM FRAMS project required extensive hydrological analysis and hydraulic modelling in order to assess the flood risk in the study area. The output from this study, a Flood Risk Management Plan (FRMP), identifies a programme of studies, actions and works (both structural and non-structural) to manage the flood risk in the study area in the long-term. Preparation of an FRA for the Oval Building in Ballsbridge. The purpose of this study was to identify the flood risk to the building. Solid Waste in East & South Latgale, Latvia Ventspils Solid Waste Management, Latvia Waterford City & Council Solid Waste Strategy East Latgale Technical supervision for the construction of a 500,000m 3 municipal waste landfill for the City of Rezekne, the population served is 121,000. South Latgale Technical supervision for the construction of a 600,000m 3 municipal waste landfill for the City of Daugvapils, the population served is 239,000. Review of detailed design, preparation of tender dossier and supervisionn for the construction of a solid waste landfill at Ventspils, the provision of equipment to operate the Solid Waste Management project and the closure and rehabilitation of ten existing dumpsites in the Ventspils region of Latvia.
