3 LTAB Installation Louder Than a Bomb (LTAB) is a youth slam poetry competition created in The UC MetroLAB Design / Build / Research studio teamed up with LTAB to create a temporary performance space for the poetry competitions. Our challenge, collectively, was to empower the artist and enhance the performance without distracting either audience or performer. Instead of moving from the general to the particular - from abstract idea to detail we started with full-scale experiments of material assemblies. The feedback that results from the unexpected behaviors, resistances, tolerances, material limits, and serendipitous discoveries can only be understood through a direct engagement with the tools, techniques, and materials of construction. In contrast to the clean virtuality of architectural production in our digital age, this studio sought to uncover the tangible facts of construction weight, material, weather, touch, smell. 8 in Eden Park, taking advantage of the incredible views nature has offered. Eden Folly This proposal is a modern day folly in Cincinnati s Eden Park evoking the child like, adventurous curiosity in the user, urging them to explore the folly. There are 5 distinct experiences, each a separate element or space, interconnected together, which utilize the users senses to manipulate the perception of the space. This is achieved by manipulating factors such as daylight, form, scale, position, user expectations, and views. As the user moves through one space and approaches another, they are faced with the decision of which path to take, and that decision determines what they will experience next. Each user experiences the spaces in a different sequence based on the decisions they make regarding their path of travel, so the overall experience will be different for each user. The folly is located at the top of the highest hill in Eden Park, taking advantage of the incredible views and There are many paths the user can tak experiences, or spaces, of the folly. There relax, or they can keep exploring.

12 Clifton Literary Center A public library located in the heart of Clifton, designed to draw the user in, create moments that encourage curiosity and learning, bring the community together, and add an enjoyable experience to the typical function of a library. The core concept is executed through the massing that composes the library. Each mass is on one of two angles, determined by the 2 surrounding streets. These angles set the form of the library. The semi-circular staircase rising through the cylindrical glass structure is the focal point of the library. The stairs create a dynamic path through each primary space and end on the third floor terrace overlooking the scenic forest across the street

16 Pool House This pool house, surrounded by trees and a river, takes advantage of it s natural environment and creates a heightened aquatic experience for the user. The tiered section creates a level of disassociation and complexity upon reaching the top platform, while the bottom extends into the landscape. The pool house uses one water circulation system that is shared between the three pools, connecting with vertical planes of water

18 Matrix Starting with a 5 x 5 matrix, or grid, and being assigned a three dimensional item for each corner of the matrix, each hand drawn object transforms to the next object for an even transition between any row, column, or diagonal in the matrix
19 Hibiscus Island Residence A single family residence on Hibiscus Island in Miami Beach, Florida. This project focuses on creating a seamless transition from outside to inside, taking advantage of the incredible views of Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami. The second floor master bedroom completely opens up to the views, without sacrificing the outdoor living space below on this small lot by floating over the pool. My role in this project was collaborating with the project manager to take it though the design development process, creating the 3D model and construction documents, and contributing to the creation of the renderings

22 Mountain Guest House This design is for a small guest house in the mountains of Truckee, California near Lake Tahoe. This house is a contemporary take on the traditional cabin, creating an outdoor living space that s as cozy as the indoor space. The outdoor living area takes advantage of the amazing weather Tahoe is famous for in the summer. I was fortunate to see this project through start to finish, working on design development, CD s, 3D model, rendering, and finally being able to walk through the house during and after construction to see it come to life
