10 : Shift B Squad 3 and Engine 4 went on driver s training : Chief West and Rita Johnson, Chair of Spalding County Board of Commissioner, received a check from Jason Ritter, Area 4 Field Coordinator for GEMA, for the Response and Recovery grant for $28, : A Shift Battalion 1, Engine 1, Chief West, Chief Clark, and Chief Polk reported to Brightmoor for an Active Shooter Training Exercise. 13 : Jim Lewis dropped of pallets from Knapheide : Shift B Battalion 1 and Captain Jester went to outstations and completed Rescue 42 training with Shift B personnel : Chief West and Chief Polk attended the Make Griffin Spalding Better Together monthly meeting. Mjackson 08/05/15 13

14 : Chief West and Chief Polk attended the Spalding County CERT council meeting : Chief West held an officers meeting for Deputy Chiefs, Battalion Chiefs, Captains and Fire Marshal : Shift C Engine 4 and 6 went to Sun City for smoke detector detail : Shift C Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 4, Engine 5, Engine 6, Squad 7, and Squad 3 trained on Rescue 42 equipment : Volunteer Firefighter Daniel Adams rode along with Engine : Lisa Kirksey with MDA stopped by Headquarters Station to drop off supplies before going to the boot drive locations to thank the firefighters for participating in the boot drive : The EMA FY 2015 EMPG PPA Base award application was submitted to Jason Ritter of GEMA for Spalding County : Spalding County office of Homeland Security hosted the area 4 meeting at the Welcome Center. 16 : Chief Clark attended the Radio User group meeting : More than 75 members of the Spalding County Fire Department fanned out across the county with boots in hand for this year's Fill the Boot drive at Walmart, Huckaby s (Newnan Rd. & Hollonville Rd.), Kangaroo (Jackson Rd. & N. McDonough Rd.), & Super Foods (Old Atlanta Rd. & Vineyard Rd.). The generous citizens of Griffin- Spalding County raised $9, for MDA. Mjackson 08/05/15 16

21 : Firefighter Chris Holloway received his 20 Year Service Award with the Spalding County Fire Department : Battalion and Engine 1 attended Jay B. Vandiver s memorial service at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Jay passed away due to cancer at the age of 22. To Honor him and his family Ladder Trucks from City and County : Chief Polk and Lt. Batts assisted with evaluating a full-scale exercise for the Lamar County Emergency Management Agency : Chief Clark and Chief Polk met with Lyn Shockley of Specialty Products and Adam Corbridge of Buckeye about new products : Chief Clark attended budget review meeting : Chief Polk met with Mike Harrell of GA Industries for the Blind and Eric Mosley for uniform pricing and information : Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk attended the Point of Distribution exercise-planning meeting at the health department : Shift B Engine 6 went to 456 Beacon Court for a Smoke Detector Detail.
