4 : Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk met with Jessica McFadden and Gaines Harman of the American Red Cross in reference to joining to participate in a smoke detector program for Spalding County : Chief Polk, Zavario Johnson and Lt. Rocky White taught C.E.R.T. "Terrorism and Disaster Psychology" at Sun City : Chief West taught a live fire extinguisher exercise for the C.E.R.T. graduation for Sun City residents at Headquarters Station. Mjackson 08/05/15 4

5 : Chief West attended the accident review committee : Chief West met with Bill Taylor of WKEU for an interview on lightning safety : Chief West met with Sheriff Beam to discuss notification policy : Chief West and Chief Polk met with representatives from Brightmoor Nursing Home, Sherriff s Office, 911 and EMS to plan for an upcoming exercise : The department participated in the annual 4th of July parade with Commissioner Ray and Rita Johnson riding with in the firetrucks : The department honor guard presented the colors at East Griffin Baptist Church for a 4th of July service : The department honor guard presented the colors at First Assembly for their annual 4th of July service. 6 : C Shift Engine 1 attended a Fire Safety House Detail at the City Park for Spalding County Parks & Recreation Department Summer Camp : Kim Townsend with the Department of Public Health arrived at HQ Station to change out some of the out dated items on their trailer : Bill Gay Director of Human Resources gave a Drug & Alcohol Personnel Policy presentation to A, B, & C Shift personnel : Firefighter Zavario Johnson and Firefighter Martin Batts were promoted to Lieutenants : Chief Polk attended a webinar on Crisis Track : Chief West, Chief Clark, Chief Polk and Melissa Jackson attended the United Way Allocation meeting at UGA Griffin : Chief Polk attended the Area 4 EMA monthly meeting in Thomaston : Shift B Engine 6 personnel attended a meet and greet luncheon detail invited by Pruitt Health at 619 Northside Dr. formerly Heritage Healthcare. Tinsley St. from 12:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. for a Back to School Praise Concert : Shift A Engine 6, Engine 7, and the Fire Safety House went to New Birth Praise and Fellowship Church at 1315 Lyndon Ave. from 2:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. for the Igniting the Youth Community Project to Give Youth Encouragement to Stay in School : Shift C Engine 4, Engine 3, Engine 5 went on driver s training : Shift A Battalion Chief and last Rookie Class reported to Southern Crescent Technical College for Firefighter 1 written test : Chief Kenny West attended Griffin-Spalding Authority Transportation Committee meeting from 1:30 p.m. 3:30 p.m : Shift B Engine 4, Engine 6, & Chief Clark went to Sun City Peachtree to install smoke detectors : Shift B personnel assisted with Firefighter I Practicals for last graduates of Rookie School. 9 : Shift B Station 7 personnel went on driver s training : Carl Raymond with Southern Crescent Technical College stopped by the station to meet with Chief Clark : Shift C Engine 3, 4, and 5 went on driver s training : Shift A Engine 6, Squad 7, Engine 7, Battalion 1, and the Fire Safety House reported to First Assembly of God for a fire safety detail : Deputy Chief Clark and Adam Marat reported to Sun City for smoke detector installations : Shift B Captain Bankston trained Engine 5, Engine 7 on Squad : Shift B Battalion 1, Squad 7, Engine 6, and the Fire Safety House went on detail to Truett s Grill for Back to School Bash with other law and fire agencies : Shift C Battalion Chief Slaughter attended morning service at Center Pointe Baptist Church : Volunteer Daniel Adams reported for duty at Station : Chief Clark and Chief Polk attended the commissioner meeting in regards to consideration of applying for the FY 2015 EMPG Response and Recovery grant : Chief Clark attended the monthly VOAD meeting : Chief West and Chief Polk attended the quarterly West Georgia Region 4 EMS Council meeting : City and County departments met at the Griffin Police Department regarding issues with the radios from the upgrade at 4pm : Chief Polk attended a conference call about a notification system - Civic Plus - that resulted from a free survey on our communication system within our community : Chief West and Chief Polk attended a planning meeting at the health department for the upcoming Point of Distribution (Flu Shot) exercise. 10 : Chief West and Chief Polk attended a webinar with Civic Plus regarding a free readiness assessment that was conducted and to view products that they offer : Chief Clark, Shift C Engine 4, Engine 6, Squad 3, and Squad 7 installed smoke detectors for Sun City residents : Captain Williams, Chief Jones, Captain Milner and Chief Slaughter attend Court for Control Burn Violation Citations issued : Shift A Engine 4 & Engine 6 reported to Sun City to complete smoke detector detail : Harris Communications and Loudon Communications reported to Headquarters Station to repair to complete radio upgrade on county radios : City and County departments met for an update on the radio system at 8am at the Griffin Police Department : Harris and Loudon representatives set up shop at inside HQ bay for truck and portable radios maintenance : City and County departments met at HQ at 4pm for another update on the radio issue progress : Shift A Engine 4 and Chief Jamie Clark reported to UGA for Farm Safety Camp at the UGA Griffin Campus. Children 8 to 13 years of age learned fire safety, boating safety, ATV safety as well as other classes taught by other agencies and occupational fields : Shift A Lt. Ellis attended GSAR Training. 11 : Dispatch called and advised Norfolk Southern was requesting Engine 4 to assist them at the intersection of Baptist Camp Road and Kilgore Road : Shift A set up bay area for Radio Panel Meeting at HQ Station : City and County Departments met at 11am at the Griffin Police Department for a radio issue update : Chief Clark & Engine 4 reported to 119 Begonia Ct. to conduct smoke detector test : Shift B Engine 6 reported to St. Phillips AME Church for Touch a Truck Detail during Vacation Bible School : Shift C Engine 1, Engine 6, Squad 3, Battalion 1, and Fire Safety House attended back to school bash at Devotie Baptist Church : Shift C Engine 6 went on drivers training : Captain Williams and Captain Milner attended Arson Training in Savannah, Georgia : Shift B personnel trained on Brush Truck : Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk attended a planning session at Brightmoor for an upcoming exercise : Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk attended a conference call regarding an update on the radio issue at 8:30am. 12 : Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk met with Kelly Andrews of Environmental Health to discuss future protocols : Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk attended a phone vendor meeting at the annex : Office of Homeland Security hosted a presentation by Chuck Clark, of the Spalding County Ham Radio club, to meet with public safety agencies on the services and assistance that his organization can offer : Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk attended the pre bid meeting for the RFP on the Hazard Mitigation Plan update : Shift A personnel Firefighter Kory Dufresne, Firefighter Nicholas McDaniel, and Shift C Lieutenant Jarrison McBrayer trained on the operation of the Brush truck : Chief Polk met at Brightmoor for a planning meeting for an upcoming exercise : HQ station was used for a mobile maintenance area for agencies that needed their radios checked : Chief Polk met with Eric Mallard at 351 Teamon Road regarding a pre inspection for a home business : Chief Polk met with Greg Stansell to look at possible storage opportunity at the old Food Depot : Chief Polk attended a conference call for the radio issue update.
