4 YYEAR GUARANTEE EAR GUARANTEE2 UKV is a range of key commercial ventilation products which are are suitable for use in restaurants, cafés, pubs, shops, warehouses, factories and offices. Many can are also suitable for use in large domestic premises. UKV products are robust and reliable with excellent performance and are guaranteed for two years. The range has features specifically designed for commercial markets and are supplied with comprehensive instructions. The UKV fan range consists of plastic and metal centrifugal tube fans, external centrifugal fans, metal axial plate fans and high power mixed flow in-line fans. The UKV ancillary range includes an extensive selection of silencers, filter boxes, replacement filters and ceiling grilles. In addition, Domus also has a number of other products that are suitable for commercial applications, such as plastic and metal air valves, round ceiling diffusers, flexible hose/clips, rigid ducting and fire prevention products. USEFUL TECHNICAL INFORMATION The Building Regulations state that provision for ventilation is required in all new build or refurbished commercial premises when planning permission is necessary. They have been written so that they ensure buildings have enough fresh air by making mandatory some form of rapid and/or background ventilation to be included in the design of the building. This can be achieved by the following: - 1. Rapid ventilation e.g. opening of windows. 2. Background ventilation e.g. using window ventilators, airbricks. 3. Extract ventilation operated mechanically and automatically. In order to select the appropriate unit for the application in question it is important that the Approved Document F1 Building Regulations are referred to and the required extraction rate achieved for the relevant room or building. However, if the room or building to be ventilated is not covered by the regulations or if a more accurate and suitable means of product selection is required, it can be achieved by calculating the optimum rate as follows: - 1. Measure the length, breadth and height of the room (in metres) and multiply them together to obtain the room volume in m Multiply the room volume by the recommended number of air changes per hour, shown in the table opposite, to achieve the extract rate of the fan in m 3 /hr. 3. Select a fan with a duty the same as, or exceeding, the calculated extract rate. e.g. Conference room 9m x 5.5m x 2.3m x 8 ach = m 3 /hr. Fan to be selected: UKV ref. UT25 extracting 12 m 3 /hr. 2

The unit consists of an external rotor motor fitted with a backward-curved centrifugal fan in a housing manufactured in zinc-plated steel, protected with a tough white powder-coat finish. TYPICAL APPLICATION Ideal for applications where it is vital that the noise levels are at an absolute minimum e.g. recording studios or medical consulting rooms. However, they are also commonly used in domestic kitchens. All ambient noise created by the fan is kept outside the building if it is installed on an external wall. 9 UKV FAN RANGE AXIAL PLATE FANS (METAL) High performance Robust and durable Complete with inlet guard Speed controllable Single and three phase options 4 pole IP44 rated Class B motor The UKV plate mounted axial fans are based on an integrated impeller and external rotor motor design that produces a very compact unit. Together with a specially designed bellmouth inlet and mounting plate, the complete fan is lightweight and ensures an excellent performance to sound level ratio. The pre-drilled mounting plate for direct wall fixing is formed from a single sheet of zinc-plated steel protected with a tough black powder-coat finish. Inlet finger guards and motor supports are manufactured from steel rod, electro welded for extra strength. The finger guard gives protection to BS 848-5:1999. They offer excellent sound absorbing properties to effectively reduce excessive noise in ducts. TYPICAL APPLICATION Two silencers would be used on the two room side connections of the fan unit in a whole-house ventilation system with heat recovery (MVHR).
