Recommended temperature range 20 to 27 C 5 to 40 C Temperature range Recommended humidity range Humidity range 50 to 60% Up to 31 C, 5 to 80% At 40 C, 5 to 50% Recommended altitude range Up to 2000 m After expoing the GC to extreme of temperature or humidity, allow 15 minute for it to return to the recommended range. Ventilation requirement The GC i cooled by convection: air enter vent in the ide panel and underneath the intrument. Warmed air exit through lot in the top, rear, and ide panel. Do not obtruct air flow around the intrument. Caution For proper cooling and general afety, alway operate the intrument with cover panel properly intalled. Venting oven exhaut Hot air (up to 450 C) from the oven exit through a vent in the rear. Allow at leat 20 cm (10 inche) clearance behind the intrument to diipate thi air. 2 Benchtop pace requirement WARNING Do not place temperature-enitive item (for example, ga cylinder, chemical, regulator, and platic tubing) in the path of the heated exhaut. Thee item will be damaged and platic tubing will melt. Be careful when working behind the intrument during cool-down cycle to avoid burn from the hot exhaut. If pace i limited, the Oven Exhaut Deflector (part no ) may improve oven cooling. It divert exhaut air up and away from the intrument. You can connect it to a 10.2-cm (4-inch) exhaut-duct ytem, route the exhaut to a fume hood, or vent the exhaut outide the building with cm diameter (4-inch diameter) furnace duct. Venting toxic or noxiou gae During normal operation of the GC with many detector and inlet, ome of the carrier ga and ample vent outide the intrument. If any ample component are toxic or noxiou, or if hydrogen i ued a the carrier ga, the exhaut mut be vented to a fume hood. Place the GC in the hood or attach a large diameter venting tube to the outlet for proper ventilation. To further prevent contamination from noxiou gae, you can attach a chemical trap (part no. G ) to the plit vent. Benchtop pace requirement The GC with electronic pneumatic control (EPC) i 59 cm (23 inche) wide. The nonepc model i 68 cm (26.7 inche) wide. Both are (21 inche) high and (21 inche) deep. The area above the GC hould be clear, with no helve or overhanging obtruction that limit acce to the top of the intrument and interfere with cooling. You may need additional pace for other intrument ued with your GC. Figure how ome common ytem configuration.
