Chidren sha not pay with the appiance. Ceaning and user maintenance sha not be made by chidren without supervision. Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of chidren ess than 8 years of age when it is energized or cooing down. The iron must not be eft unattended whie it is connected to the suppy mains. The pug must be removed from the socket-outet before the water reservoir is fied with water. The iron must be used and rested on a stabe surface. When pacing the iron on its hee, ensure that the surface on which the hee is paced is stabe. The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visibe signs of damage or it is eaking. This wi minimise the frequency of temperature adjustment for different garments. Never use battery topping up fuid or water containing any substances ike starch, sugar, fragrant additives or defrosted water from a refrigerator. B MAX eve mark NOTE: The steam faciity shoud ony be used on garments which are suitabe for ironing at the 2 and 3-dot settings (see Temperature guide on page 3). Texties and cothes are supposed to carry ironing instructions. If they don t, you shoud foow the Temperature guide on page 3, but be sure to test the temperature by ironing the hem of the garment or simiar discreet area first. If you turn the contro dia down from a hot setting to a cooer setting, wait unti the iron temperature has stabiised before you continue ironing. Deicate fabrics such as sik, woo, veour, etc, are best ironed with an ironing coth to prevent shine marks. FILLING 1 Make sure that the iron is not pugged in, then set the steam dia to O position E before fiing the iron with water. 2 Lift the fier cap unti it ocks and hods in the open position. Fi the water through the fiing hoe into the water tank, using a measuring jug A. 3 Aways pour out the remaining water after use. WARNING: When fiing your iron with tap water, aways use the beaker provided (certain modes ony) or a measuring jug. Never fi directy under the tap. TEMPERATURE CONTROL C 1 Pug in the iron and switch on the power at the mains socket. 2 Set the temperature dia to the temperature required C, but don t start ironing immediatey. If you wait a few minutes, the iron wi stabiise at the required setting. Your Morphy Richards iron is fitted with a temperature indicator ight which wi switch on and off whist you are ironing. This is perfecty norma as it shows that the iron is maintaining the heat setting you have chosen. It is aways a good idea to begin with coo fabrics and work up to higher settings. An iron heats up quicker than it coos down so you wi save time and energy. C The tank hods 350m of water. The iron is fitted with a cear view water tank, so you can easiy see the water eve when fiing. During fiing, tit the iron forward to read the water eve. The MAX mark is printed on the side of the cear view tank B. After fiing, push the fier cap forward unti it cicks in pace. IN HARD WATER AREAS, THE USE OF DISTILLED OR DEMINERALISED WATER IS RECOMMENDED. FEATURES OF YOUR IRON Dry ironing You can use your iron as a dry iron ony. Make sure the variabe steam contro is set to the O symbo E. Any temperature setting may be used depending on the garment. The spray feature may be used, provided there is water in the tank (see Fiing section). You do not need to put any water in the tank when dry ironing ony. 4 UK Hepine Repacement Parts Ireand Hepine

You can do this whist dry ironing providing there is water in the tank. When using the water spray it may be necessary to push the button a few times to get the spray pump primed. Variabe steam E Fi the iron with water as described in Fiing on page 4, and insert the pug into the eectrica socket. The steam output can be varied from ow to high by moving the variabe steam contro. When using the iron at the bottom of the steam range, the steam output shoud be adjusted to the ow setting. The steam faciity shoud ony be used on garments which are suitabe for ironing within the steam range. Economy / Eco steam setting E This iron provides you with two specific steam eves, the first position is an economy or Eco setting which deivers a specific amount of steam adequate for most tasks. Move the contro button across unti it aigns with the green indicator ine. A second setting is avaiabe to hande difficut jobs such as stubborn creases. The Eco or economy setting can be used at the 2-3 dot and MAX temperature eves, high steam is suitabe for 3-dot and MAX eves ony. Steam boost F Press the steam boost button to obtain a boost of extra steam for ironing out creases in heavy materia such as denim etc. The shot of steam can be used whist dry ironing, providing there is water in the tank, and the temperature contro is set within the steam range. Do not use shot of steam at temperatures beow the steam range shown on the contro dia. NOTE: For optimum steam quaity, do not operate the shot more than three times in succession. Vertica steam Hod the iron in a vertica position between 1cm and 2cm away from the item G. Press the steam boost button, this wi create vertica steam. This feature is especiay usefu for removing creases from hanging cothes, curtains, wa hangings, etc. NOTE: For optimum steam quaity, do not operate the shot more than three times in succession. Water system Do not store the product with water in the tank as water may eak from the soepate f if you forget to turn the steam setting to the off position. Remember to ony turn the steam seector switch to steam when the contro dia is set to a temperature within the steam range. Remember: the ower the temperature setting, the ower the steam setting. 6 RN40854 MUK Rev3_Instruction Book 11/10/ :08 Page 6 H I MAINTENANCE To cean a coated soepate (certain modes ony) In the unikey event of any man-made fibre fusing to the soepate, set the iron at the MAX position and pass it over a cean piece of cotton which wi draw the deposit off the surface. Do not use scouring powder or soution as this coud cause damage to the coating. IMPORTANT: Do not descae the soepate with descaing products, proprietary ceaning agents or vinegar when fushing out the soepate. To cean a stainess stee soepate (certain modes ony) To keep the soepate of your iron cean and free of imescae, we recommend that you use one of the gente chrome, siver or stainess stee ceaners that are generay avaiabe. Aways foow the manufacturer s instructions. To cean off meted man-made fibres, set the iron at the 3 dot position and pass it over a cean piece of cotton which wi draw the deposit off the surface. IMPORTANT: Do not descae the soepate with descaing products, proprietary ceaning agents or vinegar when fushing out the soepate. To cean the exterior Aow the iron to coo and wipe over with a damp coth and mid detergent, then wipe with a dry coth. Emptying and storing When you have finished ironing, unpug your iron. Ensure that the variabe steam contro is set at the O position E, ift up the fier cap and empty any remaining water out of the fiing hoe H. Do not store in the box, but in an upright position, so that any drops of water remaining cannot eak out and discoour the soepate. IMPORTANT: The fex can be damaged if wound too tighty around the iron after use. Make a oose oop with the fex and wrap it around the iron. Chidren Cose supervision is necessary when any appiance is used near chidren. Chidren do not understand the dangers associated with operating eectrica appiances. Persona safety WARNING: Burns can occur from touching hot meta parts, hot water or steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down, there may be hot water in the water tank. WARNING: To protect against the risk of eectric shock, do not put the appiance in water or in any other iquid. Do not use the vertica steam feature on cothes that are being worn. Do not eave the iron unattended whist pugged in or on an ironing board. Never aow the mains ead to over hang the work surface. The socket shoud aways be off before pugging or unpugging from the socket. Never yank the cord to disconnect from the socket, instead, grasp the pug and pu to disconnect. Do not aow the cord to touch hot surfaces. Let the iron coo competey before putting away. Loop the cord oosey around the iron before storing. The iron must not be eft unattended whie it is connected to the suppy mains. Other safety considerations Use the iron ony for its intended use. Aways disconnect the iron from the eectrica socket when fiing with water or emptying, and when not in use. If the suppy cord is damaged, it must be repaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or simiary quaified person(s) in order to avoid a hazard. Do not operate the iron with a damaged cord, or if the iron has been dropped or damaged and if there are visibe signs of damage, or if it is eaking. To avoid the risk of eectric shock, do not disassembe the iron, but teephone Morphy Richards for advice. Incorrect reassemby can cause a risk of eectric shock when the iron is used. Specia instructions If your iron does not work, check the foowing points: Has the temperature contro been set to the required temperature? Is the pug in its socket? Is the pug itsef or the socket fauty? (Check by pugging in another appiance). WARNING: When not in use, your iron shoud never be paced fat and eft on an ironing board. To prevent damage to the textie being ironed, foow the temperature guide carefuy. (Test the inside of the hem of the garment). When ironing is compete, remove the pug from the socket, empty any remaining water from the tank, and aow to coo before storage. If you drop or severey knock your iron, this coud cause interna damage even if the outside appears aright. Have it checked by a quaified eectrician. It is recommended that you use up one beaker of water by operating your iron s steam and steam boost functions before ironing any cothes as some dripping may occur whie your iron s steam system is activated. ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS Check that the votage on the rating pate of your appiance corresponds with your house eectricity suppy which must be A.C. (Aternating Current). If the socket outets in your home are not suitabe for the pug suppied with this appiance, the pug shoud be removed and the appropriate one fitted. WARNING: The pug removed from the mains ead, if severed, must be destroyed, as a pug with a bared fexibe cord is hazardous if engaged into a ive socket outet. In the unikey event of any appiance proving to be fauty within 28 days of purchase, it shoud be returned to the pace of purchase for it to be repaced. You may be asked to return a copy of proof of purchase. If, for any reason, this item is repaced or repaired during the 1 year guarantee period, the guarantee on the new item wi be cacuated from origina purchase date.
