4 Location Hemmick Court lies at the end of a quiet country lane entirely concealed and protected by its own land between the small villages of Hale and Woodgreen, within the north west corner of the New Forest National Park. The River Avon valley and the Wiltshire county boundary is close by. Within the parish stands Hale House, a large 18th century mansion which was the country house of architect, Thomas Archer, who also rebuilt Hale church (St Marys) in It is a picturesque community with thatched cottages around the green, a village hall, primary school, the nearby village of Woodgreen and the small market town of Downton, offering a wide range of facilities. The Forest itself offers many miles of unspoilt heath including the National Trust owned Hale and Purlieu Moor and woodland which makes it a wonderful location for those wanting to ride, walk, cycle amongst other outdoor pursuits. 12 The Coach House The coach house is situated opposite the main house and built very much in keeping with brick elevations under a tiled and dormered roof surmounted by a clock tower. Three sets of opaque folding glass doors give access to garaging for 5-6 cars, motorbikes etc. There is a gardener s WC.
