Confirmation of Minutes: Moved Susan Flux seconded Judith Williamson that the minutes of the previous AGM held at the Ballarat and District Trotting Club, Ballarat at AM on Tuesday 17 September 2013 as circulated be accepted Business Arising from Minutes: Nil GCA Annual General Meeting Minutes Page 1
2 Correspondence: There was no correspondence other than the nomination of delegates and apologies. Reports: All reports can be found in the circulated Annual Report. President s Report: Ken recognised and thanked all current GCA Committee members. Ken then spoke to his report (included in the Annual Report and provided to all affiliate clubs.) Membership Report: The Membership Report was read out by Rowena Margetts. Moved Ken Bradley seconded Robyn Simpson that all Reports be received Treasurer s Report: In presenting his report for the year to the 30 th June 2014 the Treasurer advised: 1. The accounts had been audited by WLM Financial Services Pty Ltd 2. After tax loss for the year was $10, Income for the year was $248, Net worth of GCA $461, Moved David Lambert seconded Graeme Whisker that the Financial Report for be accepted Auditor: The current Auditor, Mr G Walker of WLM Partners Pty Ltd has indicated that he is prepared to act as Auditor for GCA for the ensuing twelve months. Moved David Lambert seconded Dennis Parker that Mr G Walker of WLM Partners Pty Ltd, Level 12, 84 Pitt Street, Sydney be appointed as Auditor for the ensuing year Motions: There were no resolutions submitted to be considered at this meeting by the deadline of 31 May General Business: Election of Officebearers and Committee for The President declared all GCA Committee positions vacant and asked Scott Rodham of Woolgoolga Garden Club Inc, to act as Returning Officer. 3 The following nominations were received before the deadline of 16 July 2014 and as the number of nominations was less than the number of positions available the following were declared elected: President Ken Bradley Secretary - Susan Flux Treasurer - David Lambert Committee - George Hoad Rowena Margetts John Sowden Glenys Bruun Dennis Parker Carolyn Dawes Graeme Whisker Robyn Simpson Jeanette Chown Margaret Watts Judith Williamson Frank Spolc Deirdre McLoughlin The President presented Scott with a certificate of thanks for his participation on the occasion of The GCA 2014 Annual General Meeting. The President congratulated the new Committee. Presentation of Awards: The Garden Clubs of Australia Awards were then presented. The winners were: President of GCA Award for outstanding contribution by an individual to Gardening and/or Horticulture Helen Young - Wondai and District Garden Club Inc (QLD) Margaret Davis Award for outstanding contribution by an individual to The Garden Clubs of Australia Irene Woods Tamworth Cottage Gardeners Inc (NSW) Eleanor McLeod Award for outstanding service by an affiliated Club to the Community Berry and District Garden Club Inc (NSW) Doris Killian Award for outstanding service by an individual to the Community Hazel King Berry and District Garden Club Inc (NSW) Gwendy Hansford Award for outstanding service by a member of an affiliated Club to the environment Not Awarded Joan O Brien Award for achieving excellence by an individual in floral art Doreen Winkley New South Wales Floral Art Association Inc (NSW) General Business: 2015 Convention at Orange presentation by Glenna Coxhill Glenna provided a wonderful range of photographs of areas in and around Orange, for the enjoyment of AGM attendees, and outlined the opportunities for enjoyment and participation of delegates attending the 2015 Convention.
