A record on information technology equipment or communications equipment (as defined by NFPA 75 ) or on off line storage media such as computer tape, magnetic disk drives, optical disks, and flash drives Hardcopy Record. A record whose information or value is usable without the aid of support equipment or tools. Examples include paper records and art Record Type Archival Material/Record. A record that was created or received and accumulated by a person or organization in the course of the conduct of affairs and that has been preserved because of its historical or continuing value Important Record. A record for which a reproduction, although acceptable as a substitute for the original, could be obtained only at considerable expense and labor or only after considerable delay * Permanent Record. A record that has been determined to have sufficient value to warrant its permanent retention and preservation * Useful Record. A record that is normally accumulated in operations and is kept for a time period established by the responsible party * Vital Record. A record that is irreplaceable or that contains information for which temporary unavailability could constitute a serious legal or business impairment Record Status Active Record. A record that is needed to perform current operations Inactive Record. A record that does not have to be readily available for current business operations or use Unscheduled Record.
