9 Position Task Book Summary In the Department instituted a series of on the Job Training Task books to ensure that all department personnel have met certain minimum qualifications for each job regardless of state certification. This indicates that there is a basic standard of safe and efficient training in an environment where full-time jobs may hinder rapid completion of Firefighter Certification. Install flashlight mount/charger Install Dash Camera PUBLIC OUTREACH In the month of October, the Uintah City Fire Department focused on Fire Safety Week highlighting smoke detectors in the home. The department also is partnering with the American Red Cross in providing FREE Smoke Detectors (up to three) with installation to all Uintah residents. This yearly campaign serves as a reminder that each home should have the proper amount of smoke detectors to keep your home safe. This would include outside bedrooms and in the kitchen. Uintah City Fire Department also completed the Emergency Medical Responder class with four firefighters while two began ADO-Apparatus Driver Operator training and two other firefighters are still attending EMT Class. Once all classes and testing are complete all Uintah Firefighters will have medical training from an EMR level to Advanced EMT along with their firefighter training. The department s goal is to ensure all firefighters have dual training in firefighting and medical services. P a g e

15 January February March April May June July August September October 3 3 Reach Engagement Figure - Facebook Reach and Engagement From a social media aspect, Uintah City Fire Department is maintaining their audience. New and creative plans are in place to increase reach and engagement to allow a broader audience. 16 The department is continuing to build a CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Program for the city of Uintah. The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community. To bring October to a close, Uintah City Fire Department help a new station Open House and Trunk or treat for the Uintah Community. Many of the community members who we serve came out and toured the station and most importantly gave candy out to Uintah s Ghost s and Goblin s. There is nothing better than meeting Uintah residents during community events.
