2 A feast for the senses. Wohnen & Interieur The Wohnen & Interieur is the top event of the year at Messe Wien. It s the largest and most important exhibition in the premium furniture and furnishing sector, also making it one of the most significant public access shows in Austria. In 2018 Wohnen & Interieur thrilled around 72,000 visitors with a high purchasing power showcasing 750 exhibitors and brands. Visitors greatly appreciate the face-to-face conversations, personal contact and the tailored advice on all goods and services, all of which has become even more important in a digital business environment. Visitors enjoy a feast for the senses in the various design showcases and in realistic scenarios. There are chill-out lounges, free WLAN spots, daily shows, workshops and trendy food trucks to complete the expo experience. The preconditions for a successful show in 2019 were provided by the poll results for the most recent edition of the show: Satisfied visitors: Visitor demographics: 80 % of the visitors came with a definite idea of how they wished to fix and furnish 94 % of visitors came from Vienna / Lower Austria / Burgenland 89 % praised the comprehensive range of goods and services at the show 62 % of visitors are contracted employees, self-employed or in executive positions 91 % said they would recommend the show to others 62 % of visitors live in their own property or a single family house / terraced house 96 % said they were satisfied with the fair 80 % of visitors said they intended to renovate or refurnish The survey was conducted by Linz-based market research institut market.

The portfolio of Wohnen & Interieur goods, services and experiences: KITCHEN, DINING & LIVING ROOM Modern living kitchens are a central hub of communication, social and family life. The show features innovative kitchens, work surfaces and electrical appliances, superior quality dining arrangements and home furnishing plans. BATH & SPA The bathroom and spa section offers solutions to modern bathroom conundrums, as well as the latest trends in bathroom, shower and toilet ceramics, taps and tiles. Moreover this section showcases the latest infrared cabins, saunas, steam baths and jacuzzis. INTERIOR DEVELOPMENT BEDROOM The section for interior development showcases top quality wooden and stone floors, doors, stairs, walls, safety and security technology. This area provides a broad range of beds, mattresses and bedding systems to guarantee peace and relaxation. FURNITUREWORLD GARDENWORLD The FurnitureWorld section is a stage for a broad spectrum of furniture classics, from cosy upholstered furniture to trendy decorative accessories. The comprehensive portfolio also features carpets, lamps and pictures. GardenWorld is all about gardens, balconies, patios, conservatories, shade systems, outdoor furniture and decorative additions for your own very individual garden. FIREPLACES & STOVES This section spotlights a wide variety of fireplaces and stoves heated with all kinds of fuels. HOUSEHOLD & DECOR The household and décor section offers useful tips and ideas for homes and gardens, practical accessories and a chance to look around and pick things up. A WORLD OF UNIQUE ITEMS UnikateWelt is a display platform for unique works of art. Individuality is the key here as a statement on behalf of creative artists and inventors. The curated exhibition features astounding and extraordinary items; and encourages visitors to engage in a discourse with the creative forces behind the exhibits.

Timeless purism with exquisite fabrics and high-tech materials in outstanding premium quality, shapes and functionality are shown. AUSTRIANDESIGN The AustrianDesign area serves as a stage for Austria s carpenters and focuses on innovative interior design and bespoke solutions for customers who insist on residing in style. This hub brings together traditional Austrian craftsmanship, modern design and superior quality materials to create unique items of furniture. GARDENDESIGN GartenDesign is a part of the exclusive design showcase and features uniquely creative landscaping and garden designs. The subtle interplay of water, striking colours and enticing fragrances, produces a haven of green and perfect foretaste of spring. EXHIBITOR OPINIONS Toni Lienbacher, Head of Sales at Voglauer: The quality of the conversations was even better than last year. Overall this is a very important fair for us, since we can conduct direct sales something not permitted at most shows. We are in direct contact with customers here and can gain immediate feedback on our products. Friedrich Rudda (Ing.), CEO Rudda Parquet Floors & Doors: For us, the show in Vienna is one of the most important events in Austria. We ve been coming for 45 years. It s a place where many customer relationships are initiated and that s good for business. Kurt Karasek, St. Karasek & Co.: We noticed that this year s trend has been towards outdoor items. The visitors showed particular interest in our weather-proof lounge sets. In fact, we sold several of them. Michael Bauer (Mag.), Head of Sales and Marketing for Laufen: As always, the Wohnen & Interieur Messe provided Laufen with a great stage upon which to display our latest bathroom ceramics series and innovations. Our booth was well attended throughout the event and we were pleased by the interest shown in Laufen s latest offerings. We plan to return in Boris Passler, CEO of Ekkehard Passler GmbH: As the contracted plumbing company at the show, this year Ekkehard Passler GmbH seized the opportunity to fill and run the Laufen booth for the fourth year running. Once again, the symbiotic relationship between Laufen, the world s largest manufacturer of sanitary installations, and the skilled specialists from Ekkehard Passler, was a resounding success. The very tasteful and generously-proportioned booth was a genuine crowd-puller for countless potential customers, so we re already looking forward to the next edition of the Wohnen & Interieur fair in 2019.
