4 About Woven Wood Shades Woven Wood Shades are available in traditional roman style and folding panel. Traditional roman style shades lift in gentle folds; pattern runs horizontally on shade. Folding Panels are hand traversed and feature a 15% fullness for extra luxury; pattern runs vertically. Characteristics of Woven Wood Shades Woven Wood Shades are truly natural! They are woven using bamboo, reeds, grasses, jutes, and yarns for a one-ofa-kind look that synthetic material cannot match. Distinctive variations in colors and other slight imperfections are part of the unique charm of woven wood shades. Even though we use the finest hand selected material, Woven Wood Shades have certain properties that may affect the appearance of the shade. Please review the following tendencies to be sure these shades provide the performance you desire. Color All natural products mature and change color over time. They may lighten or darken depending on material and exposure to sunlight. Bamboo may be greenish at harvest and change to a yellow brown as it ages. Harvest conditions can also affect final color of each pattern. We encourage you to purchase all shades at the same time to ensure the most consistent look. Stretching, shrinking and slat migration Shades may stretch or shrink over time upwards of 1. This is most noticeable on an inside mount for roman style and panel tracks. Natural fibers will react to changes in heat and humidity. Slat migration, or uneven sides is normal and the ends can be patted back into shape if they shift. Edge banding adds a decorative touch and will help minimize stretching and slat migration. Pattern consistency Variations in thickness, texture, and yarns are to be expected within a pattern. There will be yarn knots at random intervals as well as length differences in the bamboo or grassy material that will cause a visual disruption in the weave pattern. In addition there could be minor spacing or gap differences throughout the shade due to different thicknesses of material. The pattern will not match perfectly on a 2 on 1 headrail shades over 96 wide. Side-by-side alignment cannot be guaranteed. The pattern will not match perfectly when the total width of the mulitple shades to be installed side-byside exceeds 96 wide. Liners Please note that room darkening liners do not provide a complete black-out solution. The rout holes on the operable pleated liners allow light to shine through the holes. Attached liners have small slits in the fabric to allow attachment of the cord guide rings and will also allow a small amount of light to shine through. Lift cords are color-coordinated to the woven fabric, therefore dark colored cords will be visible to the back of shades with light colored liner or room darkening liners that have a white backing. By understanding these inherent traits of natural materials, we hope you will better appreciate their one-of-a-kind charm and enjoy your shades for many years. 4

5 Operating Options Top Down / Bottom Up Traditional Shade Woven material attaches to back of wood headrail while 6 high standard valance attaches to front of wood headrail. Available in both Classic & Casual and Natural Weaves collections. Waterfall Shade Woven material attaches to front of wood headrail while 6 high standard valance attaches to back of the rail to conceal components. Classic & Casual - Cord control comes out the front of the shade through an oval grommet hole. Except Ez Lift - control loop is behind fabric. Natural Weaves - Cord control is located behind the shade fabric. Maximum size 96 x 96 No additional charge. Top Down feature lets you lower the top of the shade while Bottom Up allows the shade to also be raised from the bottom. Left cord operates top of shade while right cord operates bottom of shade. Available with attached liner option (operable liner option not available) Maximum width 72. Maximum height 96. Add $70.00 retail surcharge. Available in both Classic & Casual and Natural Weaves collections. Two on One Headrail Two separate shades on one continuous headrail. Maximum overall width 144. Valances over 96 will be made in 2 pieces. Price as two separate shades and add $40.00 retail surcharge. Available in Standard, EZ-Lift, Motorized and Cordless Lift. Available in Classic & Casual collection only. Woven Wood Shade Options NOTE: All Classic & Casual woven shades are produced with a 1/2 dowel rolled into the hem unless edge banded or cordless lift. Classic & Casual Cordless lift shades are produced with a 1 1/4 x 3/8 rectangle hem bar rolled into the hem. All Natural Weaves woven shades are produced with a 1/2 dowel rolled into the hem including edge banded shades. Continuous Cord EZ Lift Clutch Allows for precise positioning of the shade while the continuous loop control stays the same length. Eliminates dangling cords - safer for children and pets. Comes with cord tensioning safety device which must be installed for shade to operate Available with attached liner option (operable liner option not available) Available in both Classic & Casual and Natural Weaves collections. Classic & Casual shades use a brown or white cord loop depending on the pattern. Natural Weaves shades always use a white cord loop. See Pattern Guides (page 10 and page 24) for pattern availability. Classic & Casual Collection Classic & Casual - Shades are banded on both sides and across the bottom of the shade. Only the two sides of valance are banded. Solid and variegated color choices. NEW! Extra-wide bandings in decorative Leather and Suede finishes. See Woven Wood sample book or Fabulous Finishes - Classic & Casual brochure for color swatches. Natural Weaves Collection Natural Weaves - The two sides of the shade are banded. Valances are banded on both sides and across the bottom. See Fabulous Finishes - Natural Weaves brochure for color swatches. Design Tip: Consider the overall width of your shade when choosing an edge banding. Wider edge bandings may overpower a narrow shade. Additional Options Cut- Outs Bottom corner cut outs to accommodate obstructions. $30.00 retail surcharge per blind. Mitered Cut Angle cut headrail to accommodate corner installation. Both shades cannot be fully raised at the same time. $30.00 retail surcharge per blind. Limited Length Adjuster All Classic & Casual woven wood shade configurations that have a bottom dowel will include a Limited Length Adjuster. Cordless Lift shades or shades that have edge banding will NOT include the Adjuster. The Limited Length Adjuster allows up to a 1 shade height reduction (depending upon the woven wood material). It works by simply PULLING DOWN on the Adjuster on each side of the shade which in turn rolls the dowel UP. This is an innovative solution to adjust for some shade stretching, which may occur to some extent over time with all woven wood materials. Wooden dowel wrapped with shade fabric. No dowel if edge banding is ordered on shade. 6

The archtop will serve as the valance. Measuring for Specialty Shapes Its not necessary to hassle with creating paper templates when ordering arched or specialty shaped woven wood shades. 14 Classic & Casual Woven Shade Liners Operable Pleated Liner White Classic & Casual Collection White Our unique operable pleated liner raises and lowers independently of your woven wood shade giving you total control over light and privacy. Shares the same headrail with the woven shade so no additional depth clearance is required. Shades with operable liner will have 2 cord controls. Operable liner cannot be combined with specialty shade options, such as Top Down/Bottom Up, Ez-Lift, Motorization or Cordless Lift. Light Filtering and Room Darkening Liners are available in White only. Liner over 72 wide will be overlapped. Available in Classic & Casual collection only. 18 Woven Wood Shade Motorization Options 5 Steps to Motorized Woven Wood Shades - Classic & Casual Only Classic & Casual Collection Step 1. Verify that your shade falls within the allowable size ranges and depth requirements for motorization. Battery operated woven wood shades can be motorized at minimum width 15 up to maximum size of 37 square feet. Larger motorized shades require a plug-in or in-wall wiring, maximum square footage will vary depending on AC or DC power. Step 2. Choose your motor type - Radio Frequency a. Radio Frequency (RF) provides the perfect solution for hard to reach windows. No need to aim the control, the radio signal travels through walls similar to a garage door opener. Step 3. Choose your power source - Battery Powered, Plug-In, or In-Wall Wired a. Battery Wirefree - The motor is powered by extended life lithium batteries. Reloadable tube holds 8 AA batteries. No wires to conceal and no need for an electrician. b. Plug-In - Maintenance free operation. DC motors use a transformer (similar to a laptop or cell phone charger) that plugs directly into a standard electrical outlet. AC motors come with a standard cord that plugs into any 110 outlet. c. In-Wall Wired - The motor is typically wired into the home/building s electrical system, requiring an electrician. AC in-wall wired motors are wired directly to a junction box leaving no wires to conceal. DC in-wall wired motors are wired to a power supply using a speaker type wire. Step 4. Choose your control - Remote or Wall Switch a. Radio Frequency (RF) - Available in single channel, 5-channel, and 16-channel option as well as single or 5-channel wall switch, waterproof patio remote, or programmable timer. Step 5. Select your programming options. 27 Attached and Roman Operable Fabric Liners Natural Weaves Woven Shade Liners Fabric liners provide additional control over light and privacy. Attached and Roman Operable liners are available in light filtering and room darkening fabrics. 3 colors to choose from include...white, Khaki, and Chocolate. All fabric liners are white on the back. The color side faces the shade while white faces out, unless otherwise specified at time of order. Attached liner is available on all standard and specialty shades. Roman Operable liner shares the same headrail with the woven shade so no additional depth clearance is required. Fabric liner folds up behind woven shade material in a roman style. Shades with operable liner will have 2 cords. Operable liner cannot be combined with specialty shade options, such as Top Down/Bottom Up and Ez-Lift. Depending on the circumstances, a new order will be placed and an RMA number will be assigned for Vista Products to pick up the defective merchandise. You will be invoiced for the replacement order, and a credit will be issued upon return and inspection of the merchandise to Vista Products. Please be aware when an RMA is issued for defective merchandise, we must receive the defective goods back within 30 days in order for credit to be issued. Please call as soon as you are ready to have the items picked up so this time limit does not expire. Please be sure that any blinds returned to Vista Products are properly packaged to prevent soiling or damage while in transit. Damage incurred during shipping must be reported within 30 days or credit will be denied. 31 Inside Mount: Mark order Inside Mount. Measure inside width at top, middle, and bottom of window opening. Use the smallest measurement when ordering. Factory will deduct 1/2 to ensure proper fit. For Folding Panels, the factory will make a 1/4 width deduction and 1/2 height deduction to ensure a proper fit. Measure height of opening on left, center, and right and use the smallest measurement when ordering. Outside Mount: Mark order Outside Mount. Measure width and height of area to be covered and provide exact dimensions required. It is recommended that Woven Wood Shades overlap the window by at least 1 1/2 on each side and Folding Panels overlap the window by at least 3 on each side. If mounting brackets are needed to clear obstructions (i.e. window cranks, trim work, etc.) specify extension brackets at time of order. Note: Inside Mount (IB) measurements represent the exact window opening size, the factory will make the necessary deductions to ensure a proper fit. Outside Mount (OB) measurements represent the exact blind size needed. No allowances will be made by the factory. Please use a steel tape measure to ensure proper measurements.
