Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. 1.2 SUMMARY A. Section Includes: 1. Cabling. 2. Equipment. 3. Manufacturers and Vendors. 4. Testing. 1.3 METHODOLOGY A. The exact specified brand and model of equipment and cable listed below shall be purchased and installed. No substitutions on equipment or cable will be allowed without approval by the City of Beaumont s representative. 1. Approved City of Beaumont vendors. a. All cable runs shall be performed by Infinity Connections, Jeff Hudson, jeff.infinity@gmail.com; b. The removal of Zetron from the old Fire Station and installed at the new Fire Station shall be performed by Kay Electronics, Alan Aldredge, alan@kayelectroinics.com; A data/phone room with the following specifications is required for network and phone equipment. a. 4-0 X 4-0 Room. b. Climate controlled. c. Louver in door. d. Walls covered in ¾ plywood from floor to ceiling. e. Quadruplex electrical box shall be installed in the center of the left hand wall, 6-0 above the finished floor. 3. The following shall be purchased and installed in the Fire station #2 data room to support the fiber connection from Willard Library. a. A fiber panel installed in a 19 wall rack. b. A fiber bulkhead with SC connections. 4. Antenna cable shall be Belden 9913 RG8/U-Coax plenum cable, manufacturer s part # Cable shall be plenum rated and not require conduit

Install one (1) antenna cable from the mounting box located on the outside of the Fire Station to the radio equipment in data room. 7. The City of Beaumont Communication Division will install the antenna and terminate each end of the antenna cable. 8. Acknowledgement button cable shall be Belden plenum Acknowledgement buttons shall be GC Electronics Miniature Pushbutton Switch, Retail Part # Acknowledgement faceplate shall be stainless satin finish made by Leviton with a.406 diameter hole, single gang, part #S11-N Install one (1) cable at each acknowledgement button drop to the PA equipment in the data room and terminate by installing the acknowledgement button and faceplate. 12. The city of Beaumont Communication s division shall terminate acknowledgement cables to PA system in data room. 13. The City of Beaumont Communication s division shall drill out the correct size hole in faceplates. 14. Speaker cable shall be Belden plenum The one (1) ceiling speaker for the Apparatus Bay area will be a Soundsphere Model Q-S Loudspeaker. Install one (1) cable at each speaker drop to the PA equipment in the data room and terminate by installing the speaker. 18. The City of Beaumont Communication s division shall terminate speaker cables to PA equipment in data room. 19. TV cable shall be RG6 plenum. 20. TV cable faceplate will be Leviton part#s7-n Install one (1) cable at each cable drop to the Time Warner Cable (TWC) demarcation in the data room and terminate at faceplate on user s end. 22. The City of Beaumont Communication s division shall terminate RG6 cable at TWC demarcation. 23. POTS cables shall be CAT5E plenum and white in color. 24. Two (2) POTS lines shall be install from the AT&T demarcation to the Fire Alarm Control Panel. 25. The City of Beaumont Communication s division shall terminate the POTS cable at both the AT&T demarcation and the Fire Alarm Control Panel. 26. Faxing cable shall be CAT5E plenum and white in color. 27. Faxing cable shall be installed and punched to S66M150 telephone block in data phone room. 28. Faxing jacks and wall plates will take 6 pin RJ11 s. 29. Faxing wall jacks shall be the same color as wall plates. 30. Faxing cabling shall be punched to wall jacks. 31. All faxing face plates shall be labeled to match cable runs 32. Install two (2) cables at each fax drop. 33. Data cable shall be CAT5E plenum and blue in color. 34. Data cable shall be terminated and punched down to the patch panel in data room. 35. Data jacks and wall plates shall take 8 pin RJ45 s. 36. Data wall jacks shall be orange in color. 37. Data cable shall be punched to wall jacks

Sticky labels placed on the front of the wall plate will not be accepted. Use CommScope wall plate part #M14L-246, ivory. 39. All data shall be labeled at block/patch panel and on paper label for wall plate. No stick on labels allowed. 40. Wiring diagram shall be provided by contractor at the completion of the cabling project. 41. Cable ties or cable management shall be utilized to provide neat appearance. 42. Wall plate cover color shall be provided at pre-bid conference. 43. Install two (2) cables at each data drop. 44. The HVAC system in the data room shall have one (1) cable installed to the patch panel in data room. 45. The Zetron system in the data room shall have one (1) cable installed to the patch panel in data room 46. The (1) Access Point in the Bay area shall be 20ft above the floor and have a single gang box with a solid faceplate. 47. The (1) Access Point in the Bay area shall have RJ45 connectors on end of cables and coil up in the single gang box. 48. Technology Services shall remove solid faceplate and mount Access Point to single gang box. 49. The (2) Access Points in the drop ceiling shall have RJ45 connectors on end of cables and coil up in the ceiling. 50. Technology Services shall mount Access Points to the drop ceiling grid. 51. Install (2) cables at each Access Point drop. 52. All Access Points shall have 15 feet of extra CAT5E cable coiled up above ceiling. 53. All Access Points shall be terminated and punched down to the patch panel in data room. 54. Final placement of all Access Points (AP) is to be determined. 55. The Willard Library shall have a 3 conduit installed from the outside of the building into the data room. 56. The general contractor shall tie into this 3 conduit when providing (1) 3 underground conduit runs from the outside of Willard Library into the slab of Fire Station #2 and stubup into the data room. 57. Install 6-strand OSP single-mode fiber cable from the Willard Library data room to Fire Station #2 data room. 58. The fiber at Willard Library shall terminate onto an existing fiber bulk head located inside a fiber patch panel with SC connectors. 59. At Fire Station #2, install a fiber panel with fiber bulk head with SC connectors in an existing 19 rack. 60. The fiber at Fire Station #2 shall terminate onto this installed fiber bulk head located inside a fiber patch panel with SC connectors. 61. All open slot wiring duct for Technology Room 202 shall be a minimum 2.25 inches wide x 2.03 inches high x length required, color gray. Open slot wiring duct shall be equal to Ty-Duct by Thomas & Betts Model # TY2x2WPG Open slot wiring duct shall have a cover equal to TY-Duct by Thomas & Betts model # TY2CPG6 or sized according to the open slot wire duct used by the vendor. 63. Each vendor shall size the wiring duct according to the number of wires or cables he is installing, but the wiring duct shall not be smaller than 2.25 inches x 2.03 inches. 1.4 TESTING AND CERTIFICATION PROCEDURES

Contractor shall provide both soft and hard copy of test results within 7 working days upon completion of project. 2. Testing of cabling shall be performed prior to system cutover, 100 percent of the UTP horizontal and riser pairs shall be tested for opens, shorts, polarity reversals, transposition and presence of AC voltage. 3. UTP voice, data and building control device horizontal wiring pairs shall be tested to TIA/EIA 568-B from the information outlet to the TC and from the TC to the information outlet. In addition, all assigned circuits shall be tested from the information outlet/building control device to the MDF. 4. High speed unshielded twisted pair (UTP) data cable shall be performance verified using an automated test set. This test set shall be capable of testing for the continuity and length parameters defined above, and provide results for the following test: a. Near End Cross Talk (NEXT) b. Attenuation c. Ambient Noise d. Attenuation to Cross Talk Ratio e. Line Mapping f. Cable Length g. Return Loss h. Equal Level Far-End Cross Talk (ELFEXT) i. Propagation Delay j. Delay Skew 5. Test results shall be automatically evaluated by the equipment, using the most up-to-date criteria from the TIA/EIA Standard, and the result shown as pass/fail. Test results shall be printed directly from the test unit or from a download file using an application from the test equipment manufacturer
