4 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS save these instructions When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS AP- PLIANCE. WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY: Fully assemble before operating. Operate cleaner only at voltage specified on data plate on bottom of cleaner. Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning or servicing. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Not intended for use by children age 12 and under. Close supervision is necessary when used near children. To avoid injury or damage, keep children away from product, and do not allow children to place fingers or other objects into any openings. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer s recommended attachments and products. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, take it to a service center prior to continuing use. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not place product on cord. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts. Turn off all controls before unplugging. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. To avoid personal injury or damage, and to prevent the cleaner from falling, always place cleaner at bottom of stairs or on floor. Do not place cleaner on stairs or furniture, as it may result in injury or damage. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present. Avoid picking up sharp objects. If hose appears damaged, cut, punctured, unplug unit and discontinue use. Do not attempt to repair damaged hose, take to an authorized service center for repair. Always turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting either hose or floorhead, or any other accessories. 1

5 Hold plug when rewinding onto cord reel. Do not allow plug to whip when rewinding. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes. Do not use without Dirt Cup and / or Filters in place. CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF DAMAGE: Avoid picking up hard, sharp objects with this product, as they may cause damage. Store appropriately indoors in a dry place. Do not expose machine to freezing temperatures. Do not use sharp objects to clean out hose as they can cause damage. Do not allow the floorhead or pet tool running to sit in one location for an extended period of time, as damage to floor can result. 7 OPERATION 2.1 ASSEMBLE APPLIANCE AND ADJUST NOZZLES TO SURFACE click NOTE You might have to twist the parts when connecting them so they are securely in place. Ensure that installed parts are secure by trying to pull them apart Assemble the appliance and accessory parts depending on the surface you want to vacuum clean (Fig. 1 9). 2. Ensure that the bypass vent is shut (Fig. 5). 3. If you use the telescopic tube (Fig. 6), adjust its length (Fig. 7). 4. If you use the floor nozzle, set it to the floor to be cleaned (Fig. 8 carpet, Fig. 9 hard floor). 4

8 OPERATION 2.2 VACUUM CLEANING Pull the cable out of the appliance (Fig. 10) and plug into a socket. 2. Switch on the appliance using the on/off switch ( ) (Fig. 13). 3. Vacuum clean (Fig. 14). WARNING WARNING Danger of injury Check appliance and power cord before each use. A damaged appliance must never be used. CAUTION Only use the appliance with all filters undamaged, dry and correctly fitted. Make sure that no objects obstruct the telescopic tube, the suction hose or other openings. Danger of electric shock If the red marking shows (Fig. 11) retract the cord by pressing the retraction button ( ) to pull in the cord up to the yellow mark (Fig. 12) again. Otherwise, the power cord may be damaged. NOTE The auxiliary air regulator (Fig. 5) must be completely closed for vacuum cleaning. With the auxiliary air regulator you can quickly reduce the suction power, to release objects (such as curtains) that have been sucked in. Your vacuum cleaner has an integrated protective function that turns off the appliance before it can overheat (e.g. due to blocked suction paths or a full dust container). 5

9 MAINTENANCE 3.1 EMPTYING THE DUST CONTAINER AND CLEANING THE MOTOR PROTECTION FILTERS Switch off the appliance ( ). 2. Pull the plug out of the plug socket. 3. Remove the dust container(fig. 16). 4. Empty the dust container(fig. 17). 5. Take this opportunity to also check the filter elements(fig. 19 and 21) and the cyclone unit (Fig. 20). 6. If the filter elements(fig. 22 and 23) are soiled, clean them under cold or lukewarm running water until all soiling has been removed. 7. Leave the filter elements to dry after cleaning them with water (approx. 24 hours at room temperature). 8. Reinsert the filter elements and cyclone unit (Fig ). 9. Reinsert the dust container (Fig. 29). You must be able to feel and hear it clicking into place. NOTE The dust container has to be emptied and cleaned regularly. Otherwise emptying it will get harder and harder or smells and bacteria might develop,depending on what you have vacuumed up. Therefore, it is best to empty the dust container after each vacuuming session. Empty and clean the dust container at the latest when the cleaning/emptying display lights up (Fig. 15). Also empty and clean the dust container every 3 months at the latest before storing for a long time or before returning the appliance. 6

10 MAINTENANCE 3.2 CLEANING/CHANGING THE EXHAUST FILTER The filter elements are washable, but may not be cleaned in dishwashers or washing machines. Also, do not use cleaning agents or brushes with hard bristles to clean the filter elements. Leave the filter elements to dry after cleaning them with water (approx. 24 hours at room temperature). Do not re-install them until they are completely dry. Replace damaged or deformed filters immediately. CAUTION CAUTION Never operate the appliance without the filters in place. Never operate the appliance with damaged filters. click CAUTION The cyclone unit is not washable (Fig. 24). If the cyclone unit comes into contact with water, soiling may adhere to the inside. Clean the cylone unit by carefully tapping it out. NOTE The exhaust filter cover can be locked more easily if you hold the release mechanism (Fig. 34) and do not release it until the exhaust filter cover is in its final position. 1. Switch off the appliance ( ). 2. Pull the plug out of the plug socket. 3. Unlock the exhaust filter cover as shown (Fig. 30). 4. Remove the exhaust filter using the tab provided (Fig. 31). 5. Tap out the exhaust filter over a dustbin. 6. Then brush out the exhaust filter with a soft brush, e.g. the furniture brush included in the scope of delivery (Fig. 32). 7. Put the exhaust filter back into its console, so that the tab audibly clicks into place (Fig. 33). 8. Attach the exhaust filter cover at the bottom first. 9. Lock the exhaust filter cover (Fig. 34). NOTE The filter elements and the cyclone unit are constructed so that they can only be inserted and drop fully into place if they are in the correct position. Do not use force when inserting. If you do not manage it immediately, try again. 7

11 MAINTENANCE 3.3 STORAGE click WARNING Risek of injury Switch off the appliance after vacuuming ( ) and wind up the power cord ( ). When winding up the cord, keep the plug in your hand so that the cord does not thrash about and cannot injure you. WARNING Danger of injury Keep the appliance out of the reach of children. CAUTION Never store the appliance next to heat sources (e.g. stoves or radiators). Avoid direct sunlight. Store the appliance and accessories in a cool, dry place where it does not take up too much space (Figures 35 39). CAUTION Clean the filter each time you clean the dust filter. Replace the filter if it is damaged or deformed. CAUTION The exhaust filter cannot be washed. CAUTION Only use original spare parts from the scope of delivery or those that you have acquired by reordering. WARNING If you intend to store the appliance for a long time, empty and clean the dust container and its filter elements Chapter 3.1, Emptying the dust container and cleaning the motor protection filters. 8

12 TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING NOTE Danger of injury Never use a defective appliance Always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains before starting trouble shooting. If you cannot solve the problem following these instructions, contact our customer services. Before contacting your authorised Hoover dealer or service enter, first follow the procedure in the following table to check if you can solve the problem yourself. PROBLEM The cleaning results are unsatisfactory in spite of the appliance working correctly. POSSIBLE CAUSE/SOLUTION The bypass vent (Fig. 5) is open. Close the bypass vent. TThe attached nozzle is unsuitable. Change the nozzle, Chapter 2.1, Assemble appliance and adjust nozzles to surface. The collar brush of the floor nozzle is not in a position appropriate to the type of floor (Figures 8 9). Adjust the position of the collar brush to the type of floor using the floor nozzle switch (Figures 8 9). The dust container is full. Empty and clean the dust container Chapter 3.1, Emptying the dust container and cleaning the motor protection filters. The filters are dirty. Clean the filters, Chapter 3.1, Emptying the dust container and cleaning the motor protection filters that is Chapter 3.2, Cleaning / changing the exhaust filter. Nozzle, telescopic tube or suction hose is blocked. Remove the obstruction. If necessary, use a long wooden stick (e.g. a broomstick) to do this. 9

13 TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM Cleaning/Emptyingdisplays lights up (Fig. 15) The vacuum cleaner stops suddenly POSSIBLE CAUSE/SOLUTIO The dust container is full. Empty and clean the dust container Chapter 3.1, Emptying the dust container and cleaning the motor protection filters. The filters are dirty. Clean the filters, Chapter 3.1, Emptying the dust container and cleaning the motor protection filters or Chapter 3.2, Cleaning / changing the exhaust filter. The collar brush of the floor nozzle is not in a position appropriate to the type of floor (Figures 8 9). Adjust the position of the collar brush to the type of floor using the floor nozzle switch (Figures 8 9). Nozzle, telescopic tube or suction hose is blocked. Remove the obstruction. If necessary, use a long wooden stick (e.g. a broomstick) to do this. The overheating protection has tripped (possibly due to blocked suction channels, filters, or similar). 1. Switch the appliance off and pull the plug out of the socket. 2. Remove the cause of overheating (e.g. by disassembling telescopic tube and suction hose and removing the obstacle and/or cleaning filters). 3. Wait approx. 45 minutes until the appliance has cooled off. 4. After the appliance has cooled off, you may switch it on again. 10

38 维护 3.2 清洗 / 更换出风过滤器 小心 滤芯可以清洗, 但不能用洗碗机或洗衣机清洗 另外, 不要使用清洁剂或硬毛刷子清洗滤芯 用水清洗滤芯, 然后晾干 ( 室温下需晾大约 24 小时 ) 滤芯完全晾干后才能重新安装 立即更换损坏或变形的滤芯 小心 请勿在未安装过滤器的情况下操作设备 请勿用损坏的过滤器操作设备 注意 咔哒 click 小心 气旋式组件不可清洗 ( 图 24) 如果气旋式组件元与水接触, 污物有可能附着到内部 小心拍打气旋单元以清洁内部 扳动分离开关 ( 图 34) 便于锁住出风过滤器盖, 在出风过滤器盖到达最终位置前不要放开分离开关 1. 关闭设备 ( ) 2. 将插头从插座中拔出 3. 如图所示解锁出风过滤器盖 ( 图 30) 4. 使用图中所示的拉手片移出风过滤器 ( 图 31) 5. 在垃圾桶上方取下出风过滤器 6. 然后用软刷 ( 如产品自备的家具刷 ) 清理出风过滤器 ( 图 32) 7. 将出风过滤器放回原位, 拉手片入位时发出 咔哒 声 ( 图 33) 8. 首先将出风过滤器盖连接到底部 9. 锁紧出风过滤器盖 ( 图 34) 注意 滤芯和气旋单元采用特定结构, 只有正确摆放方可插入和完全放置到位 插入时不要过于用力 如果一次没有安装成功, 请再次尝试
