History of The Nine Stones On the road to Newtownbarry at a gap in the Blackstairs range, there is a place called the Nine Stones. According to legend, the stones commemorate nine shepherds lost in a winter storm. Today, the viewing point at the Nine Stones is a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike.
