ACCOMMODATION Believed to date back to the early 1600's, The Manor House is a locally important listed house set in private and mature gardens. The house has undergone numerous changes over the years, however the most significant remodelling, carried out circa 1900 was heavily influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement whilst there are a range of features throughout the house which reflect the earlier Georgian style. Features including wood panelling, wooden floors and sash windows, a charming carved frieze in the study, and of particular note is the walnut panelling and original silk insets in the Drawing Room. Around 30 years ago, The Manor was divided from the East Wing and forms a separate title. The accommodation briefly comprises a Reception Hall, with oak panelling and flooring. The Dining Room is double aspect with three large sash windows, a gas fire with ornate surround and oak panelling. The Study also boasts intricate oak panelling and part glazed French doors lead out to the garden terrace. A second hall leads to the part panelled Family Room with carved pillars, windows seats and French doors out to the garden terrace, and the Kitchen/Breakfast Room with fitted oak units, a china pantry and a 4- door gas Aga which is remotely programmable. There is also a downstairs shower room. The cellars are accessed from the Reception Hall, from where a half staircase leads up to the conservatory, which was rebuilt to reflect the original Georgian conservatory, and the Drawing Room, a beautiful formal space with walnut panelling, display cabinets and flooring, sash windows and French doors to the conservatory and a pillared alcove with window seats and open fireplace. To the first floor there are five bedrooms including a master suite with double aspect, sash windows and a four piece bathroom suite with roll top bath. All the remaining bedrooms have fireplaces, and there are two further en suite bathrooms. Also to be found on the first floor is a hidden panel which leads to a priest hole and attic space. OUTSIDE The Manor House is approached by a gravel drive which splits on approach, to the right to the paddocks, to the left to the front of the house which is bordered by a low stone wall with railings, and the front garden is lawned with mature shrub borders and trees including fir, holly and conifers. To the rear there is a sunken south facing stone terrace leading to lawned gardens divided by a gravel walk flanked by cherry trees and bordered by large mature beds. To the far end and side of the gardens there are numerous mature trees and plants including holly, birch, magnolia and banks of rhododendrons, as well as an ornamental pond. There is a small courtyard in one corner with a gardeners WC and door to the shower room. To the West of the gardens there is a paddock predominantly enclosed by post and rail fencing.
