2 Company Personnel Spotlight FF/EMT Ken Winger joined the Lake Geneva Fire Department in May of FF/EMT Ken Winger has earned his Firefighter 1 & 2 certification, EMT-Basic, Haz-Mat Ops. FF/EMT Winger assists with managing the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Team for the Lake Geneva Fire Department. When FF/EMT Winger is not working for the Lake Geneva Fire Department he is in school studying to become a Paramedic with the end goal being able to provide his new skills to the community of Lake Geneva. FF/EMT Winger your passion for the fire service is infectious. Your dedication to the Fire Service and to the community of Lake Geneva is greatly appreciate and has not gone unnoticed. Thank you for 7 years of service. We look forward to many more.

3 February Anniversaries - Lieutenant Rhonda Baumann- 4 years - FF/Paramedic Scott Huber- 10 years - FF/Eng Ken Larsen- 10 years - FF/Eng Mike Herwald- 22 years Community & Department Events - As of January 1, 2018 the Lake Geneva Fire Department began staffing 24 hours a day 365 days a year. It is a great improvement for our community. - The Department continues to actively train with area departments. This month we were privileged in hosting the Town of Delavan, Fontana and Walworth County Sherriff s Department in air boat operations. This training also provided us with the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with Fontana s newly acquired airboat. We want to send a huge thank you to Liam Maxwell for dropping off this fantastic plate of treats to us. It was a fantastic surprise and we appreciate it very much.

4 On January 12th we celebrated FF/EMT Pat Carroll s retirement following 33 years of service to the Department. We wish Pat good health and happiness in his future endeavors. Notable Calls for Service - On January 3 rd MABAS box was activated by the Bloomfield Genoa City Fire Department for a residential structure fire. Alarm was elevated to the 2 nd alarm level. The department responded with a Truck and Chief. - At 4:34pm on January 14 th the Department responded to assist the Hebron Fire Department with a mass causality motor vehicle collision. Two vehicles were involved with a total of 6 patients, all requiring extrication. The collision resulted in two fatalities. - In the early morning hours of the 27 th the Department responded to a vehicle vs pole in the 1300 block of W. Main St. No injuries were reported however the collision resulted in a loss of power to the neighborhood for many hours.
