3 1.0 SUMMARY In November 2017, Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 50 (the District ) Board of Directors authorized the televising of portions of the District s storm sewer system by AAA Flexible Pipe Cleaning Co., Inc (the Contractor ). The Contractor televised a total of 18,835 feet (5,741 meters) of various storm sewer lines within the District (See Attachment 2.1) and submitted the televising videos and associated data to A&S Engineers, Inc. ( A&S ) with the last video being submitted in early March The District Board of Directors authorized A&S to review all televising videos and associated data to evaluate the existing condition of the District s storm sewer lines for possible breaks, collapses, material deterioration, debris, and joint offsets that may hydraulically limit storm water flow through the storm sewer system. After review of all videos and associated data, only 150 feet (46 meters) out of the total of 18,835 feet (5,741 meters) inspected, about 0.8%, were found to be in need of either a point repair or have minor debris removed that would otherwise not be normally washed out with a higher flow event. In addition, we concluded that none of the conditions found would hydraulically limit storm water flow through the storm sewer system during a severe rain event; nonetheless, repair or debris removal is recommended to maintain and ensure structural integrity of the storm sewer pipe and road foundation above it. It should be noted though that the extent of repairs will encompass lengths greater than the 150 feet (46 meters) due to construction techniques and methods that would include pavement repairs. There are approximately nine (9) locations with storm sewer pipe breaks or partial collapses recommended for repair (See Attachment 2.2 and 2.3) and 29 locations recommended for minor debris removal (See Attachment 2.4 and 2.5). 2.0 ATTACHMENTS Attachment 2.1 shows the original exhibit for the Storm Sewer Televising project. Attachment 2.2 contains photos and the repair specifics for the nine (9) storm sewer pipe breaks and partial collapses recommended for repair. Attachment 2.3 shows the approximate locations on an overall District storm sewer map of the storm sewer pipe breaks and partial collapses specified in Attachment 2.2. Attachment 2.4 contains photos of the locations recommended for debris removal. Attachment 2.5 shows the approximate debris removal locations on an overall District storm sewer map specified in Attachment 2.4. Note: The distorted format of the imagery contained herein is that provided by the Contractor s equipment.
