Groundwater recharge along the wooded slopes of Blue Mountain provides a critical source of high quality water for the 33 headwaters of the Bushkill Creek. Wetlands along the foot of the mountain also help to buffer the streams from surface runoff while NJ providing important wildlife habitat. Most of the upper half WISON of the basin is located in shale and slate geology, and is dominated EASTON by woodlands, agriculture, and low-density residential development. PA 22 The wooded areas generally follow the streams (mainstem, Sobers BETHEHEM Run, Engler Run, and ittle Bushkill Creek), forming "greenways" from Blue Mountain to Jacobsburg State Park. These riparian corridors absorb rainfall and runoff, keep the streams shaded and cool, and provide important habitat for flora and fauna. The peaceful Bushkill Creek meanders through Jacobsburg State Park Bushkill Creek Watershed Boundary Residential, Commercial or Industrial and Both Sides of stream in need of riparian buffer Agricultural and One Side of stream in need of riparian buffer Urban Recreational Grassland Stream Wetland Street Right Of Way Parcel Boundary Forest and Municipal Boundary Open Water County Boundary Park Data Sources: ehigh Valley Planning Commission, USGS Heritage Conservancy 85 Old Dublin Pike Doylestown, PA January Feet

There is a paved path and footbridge over the creek, then a small path to the left) Gauge 2 on Bushkill Street bridge at Tatamy (#4) (sample on the downstream side of the bridge) ittle Bushkill Creek at Stockertown Borough Park (#5) (there is a gravel parking area along Sullivan Trail just before the bridge as you enter Stockertown) Above footbridge at Jacobsburg SP main parking area/visitor center (#6) (there is a small path through the bushes from the first parking spaces - sample where a large oak tree overhangs the stream) Sobers Run under concrete bridge next to stone bridge in Jacobsburg SP (#7) (north of the Jacobsburg Park Office - there is a trailhead parking area on the left. Walk down the path between the two bridges to some concrete slabs below the concrete bridge)
