5 GENERAL PLANNING We take care of all planning tasks for a successful execution of a project. A key aspect of general planning is project management. This includes planning, coordination, controlling and monitoring of all planning processes and of the whole team as we are responsible for the complete planning. Our company allows maximum transparency in project activities and places particular emphasis on quality assurance, both in planning and construction. Of course, the compliance of costs and schedules plays an important role in our daily routine. CONSTRUCTION ABROAD HISTORIC PRESERVATION The restauration of heritage-protected monuments is the focus of our work. Our services range from creating inventories to construction realization. We plan safety measures, refurbishments, conversions, modernization, restorations and any other kind of monument-appropriate specialty solutions. Preservations of monuments are always special projects which demand an individual approach and cautions planning. In particular, the integration of today s technical requirements requires a balance between contemporary demands and dealing with existing buildings. As part of the building redevelopment, our experience also compromises the planning and realization of high quality new buildings in a historical context. Our international projects often concern the construction of diplomatic missions as well as educational and cultural institutes and UNESCO World Heritage Sites of all kinds. Even in complex conditions abroad, we are accustomed to implement the German quality standards. It is of importance to be well-informed about the local conditions like construction techniques, construction quality, available construction materials, administrative regulations and also price levels. For our projects abroad we team up with local partners.

6 HISTORICAL BUILDING RESEARCH The historical building research is a special field within the historic preservation, which supplies knowledge of the architectural history. Only a few monuments were built in one step. Many historic buildings were built over many years and changed repeatedly. With regard to these buildings it is of great importance to find out which appearance the restauration should be based on. An understanding of the architectural history is a condition to make the right decisions in the present tense. This applies not only to the appearance, but also for overlapping historical building constructions that can be the cause of static damage. The historic building research examines the construction history on the object. Monument conservation authorities are now demanding building research, especially in the case of monuments and protected buildings. Quite often you may recognize historical findings during the construction period. COMPREHENSIVE INVENTORY Existing buildings and monuments require an individual approach. By building analysis, the historic structure is readable and understandable. Based on the facts, the technical, economic and historic preservation interests receive their order of priority and ensure an economic, sustainable and historically appropriate refurbishment. PROJECT MANAGEMENT Our project management includes the comprehensive management and control of all aspects of handling the construction project. We have a permanent overview of planning, costs, schedules and technical quality. In order to achieve the project goals, we can intervene to take corrective action, if necessary. We coordinate the team, ensure that the flow of information is seamless and guarantee the timely implementation of decisions, supply plans and construction measures. FIRE PREVENTION Fire prevention places high demands on the planning and construction team. It is a significant fact, that the requirements for fire protection determine the interventions in the monument during the renovation and conversion of monuments. Creativity and experience in the development of customized solutions are necessary in order to avoid losses in the historical building structure. For this reason, we develop strategies in the pre-planning phase for the structural, technical and organizational fire protection of our projects. In this way we secure the approval ability and avoid further increase in costs.
