9 SP Zoning What is Specific Plan Zoning? Specific Plan Zoning, generally known as SP zoning, refers to a zoning classification which varies from traditional zoning districts development standards. Under SP zoning, design standards established for that specific development are written into the zone change ordinance. Allows tailored approach to the neighborhood Additional flexibility up front and gives Council members and their constituents greater certainty as to the resulting project Allows the elimination of undesirable uses such as check cashing, pawn stores, tobacco and vape shops, night clubs Community Meeting January 10,
