Due to the volume required, such needs are purchased from a competitively sealed bid. Bid announcements were mailed/ ed to 235 prospective bidders and seven (7) proposals were received for consideration. A legal advertisement was published in the Daily on October 12, 2012; in the Florida Bid Reporting Service during the week of November 19, 2012; and was also posted on the Lake County Schools Purchasing website. If approved, these agreements will become effective beginning January 14, 2013, and will provide firm prices for a twelve-month period, expiring on January 13, These agreements may be extended for two additional twelve-month periods if mutually agreed to in writing and all terms and conditions remain the same. All of the bids received are available for review in the Purchasing Department. This item supports Focus Area #2 Efficient and Effective Operations and Performance Based Budgeting of the School Board s Strategic Plan and is beneficial to the students because it is necessary to maintain all facilities at an optimal level of operation and performance. Based upon the quantities estimated to fulfill these needs during the 12 month term of these agreements the total financial impact to our district will be $195, and will be funded through the Maintenance Department s General Operating and Maintenance Capital funds. DATA SOURCE: The bidding process for this item was prepared by Pamela Hayes, Purchasing Manager, in accordance with School Board Policy The specifications and funding sources for this bid were submitted by Mike Corr, Director of Maintenance.
