4 What is the Pittsburg Bay Point BART Master Plan? A Master Plan is a blueprint for future development, providing designs, data, and information on the project area. This Master Plan covers about 50 acres, including the BART station and vacant lands east and west of the Station.

6 What will the Master Plan mean? New stores and offices within walking distance of the BART station Enhanced sidewalks, trails, bicycle facilities Easier to use site Chance for residents to provide input on design, location, need, and types of uses to be added to the site.

Walk/Bicycle 7% Bus/Transit 22% Drive/Taxi 71% 156 train trips daily from the Station Average wait time between trains: minutes Average weekday ridership: 5,110 (in 2008) 26 th of 43 BART stations in number of passengers 55% of outbound riders access train before 7:30 am 53% of inbound riders leave station after 5:00 pm
9 Station Characteristics 71% of users drive to the site (as compared to 28% systemwide). Why? Area served by this station is largely suburban. Total population for area served by the station: 255,000 2,000 space parking lot provides ability to park adjacent to the station for many users Options for biking and walking to the site from nearby homes are limited, with little high density residential development in the area Connectivity with other areas of the City is poor Limited bicycle parking at the station Site is fenced across most areas, requiring access from roads on the south and east, adding time to those walking or biking to the site Perception of safety issues in the evenings in surrounding areas

Key questions or issues that will be addressed: Phasing of potential improvements to the site Coordinating development in the area Providing a mix of land uses that will appeal to users of the station and be realistic for developers Keeping the BART station useful to both the local and regional market Creating a sustainable, well designed part of the community
