6 Completely Rebuilt The grounds of this fabulous family home initially drew the owners here, as did the position. There was originally a row of cottages on the site, then a public house, and by the time the owners came here, a timber-framed Colt bungalow had been put up. We decided to rebuild but to stick with the existing footprint and spent a lot of time drawing up the plans, they explain, Colt houses are built on a modular system so you have good size square rooms that are very usable and light.
