Space And Character The owners children were 7 and 5 when the family moved here, so it s been the scene of many happy memories as the children have grown up. Now our grandchildren come too and it s lovely to have room for three generations to gather together in comfort, the owners smile. When they first came to view the property all those years ago, they loved the welcoming and friendly feel of the house, as well as the wonderful views from almost every window, looking over the gardens or nearby water meadow. The staircase hall sets the tone for the rest of the house. It s beautiful and bright with a real sense of space. This continues through the rooms, with the sitting room and drawing room among others benefiting from wonderful decorative plasterwork and high ceilings.

6 Enjoying Time With Family And Friends The kitchen is also bright and airy with a generous breakfast area for informal suppers or morning coffee, while the dining room has an abundance of space for more formal occasions. We have had two tables in here and seated 20 for dinner, the owners explain, We ve had big family Christmas gatherings, parties with friends, parents visiting from overseas. It s wonderful having a houseful and of course we have plenty of bedrooms for everyone. The master bedroom is a lovely retreat, especially when guests are visiting, and has fabulous views out over the meadows to the river beyond. Sheltered Walled Garden When they first came here the owners did a lot of work to the garden and have reaped the rewards ever since. The rear garden is walled, so it s very secure and in summer the owners leave the doors open so their grandchildren can wander in and out freely and safely. The front garden is fenced so can also be secured. We ve kept the planting simple. Mature shrubs add interest but it doesn t take much work to keep things looking their best, the owners explain. The house sits on the edge of the conservation area and the owners see lots of wildlife passing by, the diversity of birdlife due to the river, woodland and open fields around. It s a great spot as you have total privacy in the house and garden and views across greenery, but you can take advantage of all that the village has to offer, as well as being within easy reach of Norwich, they confirm.
