Please note that whilst some of the gardens are accessible for disabled visitors, garden owners will advise on suitability for wheelchair access. There is a free minibus shuttle service: see map for bus stops. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, but please respect the wishes of garden owners with regard to access. Rails End Nursery and Garden F T V A well-stocked garden with a variety of herbaceous perennials and shrubs situated beside the family-run nursery selling a wide range of herbaceous and hardy plants. Level access and plenty of parking (toilet available) Beckford Road 2. Middle Farm Can also be accessed from Back Lane F T W This large garden has a garden room of formal flower beds bordered by a beech hedge, a woodland garden and a knot garden in front of the old stone house. There is a pond, adjoining stream with a variety of water plants. Level access 3. The Moat House new this year! F T V The garden rises in terraces featuring flower borders, a trellis with climbing roses, a vine-covered pergola, a beach hut, an established orchard and new vegetable beds set against the background of the hill and church. 4. Walnut Thatch F T C The church with its ancient yew and beech trees provides a backdrop to this colourful garden. There is a range of beds with perennials, shrubs and trees on different levels, and a sheltered patio beside the orangery. 5. Beauchamp House, Paris under new ownership! F T W C A ten-minute walk from the churchyard across Church Close meadow, please note there is no minibus service to the hamlet of Paris This sloping landscaped garden has Italianate fountains, colourful containers, beds of perennials alongside a small natural stream and a herb garden. There are panoramic views eastwards across the valley, and seats are available.

2 Elmley Road 6. The Old Farmhouse F T W V C An interesting half-acre garden developed from a former farmyard and rickyard. Perennial and shrub beds for year-round interest, herb and rose garden, pond and bog garden, kitchen garden with greenhouses, soft fruit cage, fruit trees. Plus a terrace, summerhouse and lots of pots. Level access. Quality plants from a local nursery for sale. Home-made preserves for sale 7. Ashton First School F T V In celebration of the Queen s 90 th Birthday, we are growing red, white and blue flowers. The children are tending vegetables in our newly transformed vegetable boat which they look forward to sampling. We also use our school grounds for Forest School and Eco activities. We look forward to showing you round. There is seating for visitors to rest a while. Level access 8. Bredon Holt F T V C A charming garden with roses and unusual trees framing the thatched cottage. There is an arboretum for visitors to enjoy, and a large productive vegetable area. 9. Laburnum House F T V C This garden has a large productive vegetable plot and colourful displays of annuals. Level access Display of old farming tools 10. Grassmere F T V C Behind the 17 th century cottage a terrace with pots leads to a lawn and perennial borders, an orchard and vegetable garden. Level access 11. Down Yonder F T C Access via a footpath from Elmley Road or from the Playing Field: see map A spacious garden bordered by a variety of shrubs and perennials which form a pleasant setting for this ancient thatched cottage. Level access 12. Hollymount F T With its signature clipped holly tree, this formal garden is framed with trellis supporting a range of climbing plants. 3 Cottons Lane 13. Huckstones F T W V C Steps up from Cottons Lane or level access via Hillside: see map and signs An interesting terraced garden affording good views across the village. There are flower and vegetable beds, trees and a well stocked pond with a waterfall. 14. Brookside F T W V C A delightful secluded garden leading down to a brook. There are flower beds and a rockery containing a wide range of alpines, perennials and shrubs, together with a compact kitchen garden and a working model railway. Partial level access 15. Badger s Retreat F T V This attractive garden has been completely remodelled in recent years. A winding path leads through cottage perennials and shrubs to raised beds for growing vegetables. Level access 16. Orchard House F T C A tranquil low maintenance garden with plenty of seats on which to rest. The beds and borders set amongst sweeping lawns have been imaginatively planted to resist the predations of the deer which roam in from Bredon Hill. Level access 17. Hill Cottage F T V C Behind this charming cottage steps lead up to an interesting terraced garden with flower beds, a yew hedge feature and a large productive vegetable garden. Chandlers End Access from Cottons Lane or by a path from No.22: see map and signs 18. Chandlers new this year! F T V An extensive garden with colourful borders and roses climbing on the house and over old orchard trees. There is a vegetable plot opposite the house; chickens and sheep graze on a hillside pasture. A shady walk wanders through natural woodland. A path leads from Garden No.18 to No.22 in Gorse Hill: see map and signs Elmley Road continued 19. Hideaway F T W C The upward sloping large rear garden is attractively laid out with island beds and extensive borders displaying a wide variety of interesting shrub species.

Pennfields F T W V This relaxing garden with views across to Broadway Tower has a variety of shrubs, trees, beautiful roses and herbaceous plants, together with a pond, patio, kitchen garden and a wildflower meadow. 21. Morland F T W V A gently sloping garden which draws the visitor s eye to distant views of the Cotswold edge. It has a natural swimming pond edged with moisture-loving plants, a sunclock, pear hedge, apple trees and raised vegetable beds. Gorse Hill The following two gardens can be accessed from Chandlers End via a path from No.18, or from Elmley Road, or via a footpath with steps from Wood Lane, opposite No.24: see map and signs 22. Ashwood F T W V This developing 3-acre hillside garden is full of interest, landscaped with perennial borders, stream-fed ponds, a wide range of shrubs, newly-planted fruit trees and vegetables, leading to woodland with a path to No.18: see map and signs. 23. No.26 Gorse Hill F T W V C This garden is a work in progress on different levels with a mix of mature and new planting, raised vegetable borders and plenty of potential. The wide terrace with a perennial border has stunning views. Steps to the lower level are for the agile! Wood Lane Access from Elmley Road or via the footpath from Gorse Hill 24. Ashbee F T W V C A delightfully varied garden surrounding a 21 st century timber-framed house includes colourful borders, a reed pond, an apiary, raised beds with organic vegetables, old varieties of apple trees and a half-acre of broadleaf woodland. Display of cider making in the open-fronted barn (Toilet available) 25. No. 21 Elmley Road V Approach from Wood Lane A large productive vegetable garden with a demonstration of organic compost making and the use of comfrey as a fertiliser.

5 Elmley Road continued 26. Cherry Orchard F T W V C An extensive garden with mature trees and shrubs. The patio with colourful containers is complemented by a water feature. The front garden is a productive vegetable plot. Level access 27. Willow End F T V C A well established garden, with fine views of Ashton Wood. It has been developed with seasonal flower beds, a vegetable garden, and a woodland zone with wild flowers. Partial level access Cornfield Way 28. The Nutshell, No.43 Cornfield Way F T V A small imaginative cottage-style garden terraced on three levels, with a gravelled area, dry stone walls, shrubs and perennials, and raised vegetable beds. Elmley Road 200 yards north from Cornfield Way 29. Bredon Hill Middle School F T W V This imaginative garden, tended by students from the school community, is used for leisure and lessons. The garden features ornamental plantings, a seating area and fern stumpery, vegetable beds using heritage varieties and seed saving, and fruit trees.
