4 SITUATION Little Mill lies on the edge of the village of Thornhill and enjoys a quiet rural setting in the County of Stirlingshire. Nearby Bridge of Allan is home to Stirling University where members of the public can use the sports centre and the MacRoberts Art Centre with both a cinema and theatre. There are good private schools serving the area including Beaconhurst in Bridge of Allan, both Morrison s Academy and Ardvreck in Crieff and Dollar Academy. Little Mill is well positioned for outdoor sporting pursuits. For the golfer, there are 18-hole courses in Stirling, Dunblane and Callander whilst the surrounding hills and glens provide a wealth and variety of walking routes. Both the Trossachs National Park and Queen Elizabeth Forest Park lie to the west giving outstanding areas of countryside to enjoy. The county is also well provisioned with historical venues including Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument by Bridge of Allan and Doune Castle which recently was the film set for Outlander. To the north-east lies the world renowned Gleneagles Hotel with a number of restaurants including the 2-Mitchell starred Andrew Fairley restaurant together with 3 championship golf courses, shooting school, equestrian centre and leisure facilities.
