3 Description South Bank is a handsome, detached house which enjoys an elevated position towards The Long Mountain and picturesque surrounding countryside of mid Wales. Originally a farming cottage, the property was enhanced in 1872 with a large extension to the front, which incorporates a cast iron veranda allowing the spectacular views to the front to be fully appreciated. There are a wealth of other Victorian features throughout including decorative plaster work, working shutters, wooden floors, dado rails, deep skirting boards and ornate fireplaces. Accommodation is set over three floors and is entered through a large part glazed wooden door into a welcoming hallway with a wooden turned staircase leading to the first floor. Both the drawing room and the dining room radiate off the main hall on either side and are elegant rooms with excellent proportions that benefit from the lovely views to the front. At the end of the hallway is a sitting room which would have been in the original part of the property and has a wooden fireplace housing a Stovey multi-fuel burning stove.
