After passing over the M5 bridge which carries the road to Corfe (called Shoreditch) ignore all further Corfe signs and take the very next junction on the left signposted to Staple Fitzpaine. Continue along this road for a further 5 miles as it climbs up onto the Blackdown Hills passing the Taunton Vale Polo Club, through the hamlet of Badger Street and Winterwell, and the village of Staple Fitzpaine. At the top of the hill, in the Neroche Forest, you will approach a T junction. Turn right and then take the first left (approx. 400 yards) at a signpost indicating Blackwater/Blindmoor. 100 yards along this lane take the first right signposted Blindmoor. Pass Blindmoor Farm Livery Stables and look for the next farm on the left with its red roofed stone built barn. This is Middle Barton. Either park in the former farmyard or proceed to the more usual visitors entrance by passing the barn and parking on the visitors gravelled hard-standing some fifty yards or so further along the lane.
