Alpaca Handling is the only component for this. Competitors must handle and control a dairy goat in the judging ring. Competitors must be competent in handling the animal and have effective control of the animal in the judging ring, unassisted. Must be exhibiting a steer in the Purebred Steer School Section; Competitors can only compete in one Paraders. Competitors must lead a Bull, any age. Competitors can only compete in one Paraders. Participants will be judged on how they prepare and present an animal for showing. Once prepared for parading all animals must be lead using a leather show halter for final inspection. Competitors will be required to provide the following a. Nominated heifer b. Rope halter and nose lead to secure animal to designated tie-up area c. Preparation equipment (in a bucket) eg brushes, spray etc d. Show Halters, Show cane Competitors will be judged on presentation, attention to detail and WHS procedures. An Entry includes admission into both Classes: Junior Judging and Paraders. An Entry shall be deemed to be an Entry in both Live and Carcase Classes. All animals must be prepared by the School, no less than 2 months prior to weighing and scanning. The RAS has the right to inspect any at random. The Competitor shall be judged on the capture and removal of their bird from the pen, carrying, in hand, posing and returning the bird to the pen to complete Judge s assessment of the Handling of the Exhibit. 2. The Competitor will be scored on their knowledge of the Exhibit. This will be assessed by answers given to questions directed from the Judge. School Classes are open to Exhibits owned by schools only. The aim of the School Purebred Classes is to provide an avenue for schools that breed poultry for the education of their pupils to compete against other schools. Includes Standard, Bantam and Waterfowl classes. will receive a batch of day-old chicks to complete a growth trial and return with 2 male and 2 female chickens to the Sydney Royal Easter Show to be judged on 3 components: 1. Live Component - Presentation of the bird in the Show Arena. 2. Project Component - A powerpoint submission on the trial 3. Carcase Component - The quality of carcases judged to a commercial standard. will receive a batch of 7 week old pullets to complete a growth trial and return with 3 chickens to the Sydney Royal Easter Show to be judged on 3 components: 1. Presentation of Exhibits trio of pullets judged to commercial standard 2. Egg Laying eggs are collected and judged on quality 3. Project A powerpoint submission of the trial Team of 3 purebred layers. will enter and are judged on: 1. Presentation of Exhibits. 2. Egg Laying. 3. Project. Eggs will be judged on uniformity of size, shape, colour, shell texture and appearance. Classes include: Six (6) and twelve (12) eggs of standard, bantam, waterfowl or other. Open Artwork Poultry related artwork. Exhibits may be submitted in any medium e.g. paint, drawing, charcoal etc. Open Photography Poultry related photography. Any photographic medium. Open Art (Other) Poultry related artwork (other). May include Tapestry, Ceramic Tiles, Pottery etc.

Plants must be growing on own roots. Embellishments allowed. One bloom over 160mm. One standard unit under 160mm. A box or basket (not exceeding 500mm square), comprising a minimum of three varieties of produce from your garden, consisting of at least: (i) One herb variety (ii) One fruit variety (iii) One vegetable variety.

9 Flower and Garden s Open to Entries Close 24 August 2018 Australian Native Flora Produce - Metropolitan - (Radius of 80km of Sydney Olympic Park). Native flower and foliage arrangement to a maximum circumference of 600mm in any container. All Native species and cultivars accepted. Class 150 Vertical Garden. Two Components: (multiple entries permitted per school. ie: class groups) 1. Grown Component: Box or basket (not exceeding 500mm square) of produce from a Metropolitan Primary school garden, comprising of five different types of fruit, vegetables or herbs. Minimum ONE (1) piece of produce MUST be grown in the FREE Nursery Garden Industry (NGINA) Vertical Garden. Judging: quality of produce (40%), presentation of box or basket (20%). 2. Project Component (submitted via Dropbox before 16 March 2018): PowerPoint Presentation (min.5 - max. 10 slides) detailing how students prepare, grow and maintain the vertical garden, with emphasis on sustainability, to prepare for harvest of produce. Judging: quality of PowerPoint refer to rubric (40%). Class 151 Vertical Garden. Two Components: (multiple entries permitted per school. ie: class groups) 1. Grown Component: Box or basket (not exceeding 500mm square) of produce from a Metropolitan school garden, comprising of five different types of fruit, vegetables or herbs. Minimum ONE (1) piece of produce MUST be grown in the FREE Nursery Garden Industry (NGINA) Vertical Garden. Judging: quality of produce (40%), presentation of box or basket (20%). 2.
