2 SPRING SHOW SCHEDULE SECTION A: CUT FLOWERS AND FOLIAGE A1 My Most Colourful Flower. One stem. Entry accepted on the day. A2 Any Primula type, one stem. A3 Any non-bulbous plant not eligible for Class A2 (Hellebores, Pansies, etc.) Five flowering stems on a board (supplied). A4 Fresh mixed flowers. A5 Heather, five flowering stems, one or more cultivars. A6 Daphne, one stem. A7 Daffodil, mixed, three or more cultivars. A8 Daffodil, miniature, three stems, one or more cultivars, flower not exceeding 5 cm. A9 Trumpet daffodil, (Division 1), three stems, one or more cultivars. A10 Trumpet daffodil, (Division 1), one stem. A11 Large cupped daffodil, (Division 2), three stems, one or more cultivars. A12 Small cupped daffodil, (Division 3), three stems, one or more cultivars. B4 Flowering plant, any type. B5 Any orchid in a pot. B6 A collection of plants. 90cm of tabling allowed. A single grouping of either foliage, flowering cacti or succulent plants or any mixed grouping of plant types may be exhibited. Double points are awarded. B7 An alpine, any type, one or more plants in a pot or container. B8 An African violet in a pot or container. B9 Hyacinth, maximum number of three, any colour, in a pot or container. B10 Polyanthus, any colour, in a pot or container. B11 Tulips, maximum number of five, any colour, in a pot or container. B12 Primrose, flowers and leaves in a pot or container. B13 A cyclamen, any colour, in a pot or container. B14 Any other bulbous plant or plants of a single species or cultivar, pot grown. B15 Ornamental plant seedlings, six, any type, ready for planting out. SECTION C: VEGETABLES AND FRUIT C1 Ready-to-Go. Vegetable or fruit plant, single or group of same cultivar, ready to grow on. Entry accepted on the day. C2 Broad beans, two plants, ready to pot on or plant out. C3 Marrow, single variety, two plants ready to pot on or plant out. C4 Pumpkin, single variety, two plants ready to pot on or plant out. C5 Tomato, single variety, two plants ready to pot on or plant out. C6 Vegetable or salad plant seedlings, six, ready to pot on or plant out. C7 Rhubarb, two stems. C8 Leeks, two. C9 Purple sprouting broccoli, three stems. C10 Chard, six leaves, one or more cultivars. C11 Herbs, culinary, four kinds with stems in water. Flowers should be excluded. C12 Vegetable or fruit, not a plant, and not in Classes C2 to C11, at least two of the type. Page 3

4 Mandatory Recipe Stilton and Walnut Bread Method: Ingredients: 1. Add flour, butter and 240ml of water into a bowl. Add salt to one side, yeast to the other. Mix together with fingers, adding remaining water a little at time to pick up flour from sides. 2. When this rough dough is soft but soggy, tip onto olive oil covered surface and knead for 5-10 mins. 3. Leave to double in size. 4. Add Stilton and walnuts, work in well, and then divide mixture into two. 5. Roll each piece into a 30cm sausage. 6. Twist the two together and place on lined baking tray 7. Leave to prove for 1 hour inside a plastic bag 8. Dust with flour and bake at C for 30mins 500g strong white bread flour 10g salt 10g instant yeast 30g unsalted butter 320ml cool water olive oil for kneading 200g Stilton, crumbled 150g walnuts SECTION D: FLORAL ART Niche spaces are provided for Classes D1, D3 & D4. Unless otherwise stated maximum exhibit dimensions are 60cm wide by 45 cm deep. No restriction on height. D1 Good Morning Britain. An exhibit. D2 Wonderland. A Petite exhibit. Maximum size: 25 cm for any dimension except the diagonal. Open tabling. D3 When We Were Young. An exhibit. D4 Take 5. White flowers only. An exhibit. For exhibitors with limited experience. Points contribute towards the Maureen Baker Cup. D5 Green Fingers. (Men only). An exhibit. Open tabling. Page 4

5 SECTION E: DOMESTIC E1 April Fool Tea Party. Entrants are asked to lay out a place setting appropriate to the theme with cutlery and crockery and using items of their choice but to include samples from at least four of the Domestic Classes. Entries will be judged on overall presentation and the same criteria as for the Domestic Classes. Preserves E2 Pickled vegetable, any type (onion, gherkin, cucumber, etc.). E3 Jam, any type, one jar. E4 Citrus fruit marmalade, one jar. E5 Plum chutney, one jar. E6 Chutney, any type other than plum, one jar. Baking and other E7 Stilton & Walnut loaf, (mandatory recipe). E8 Stem ginger cookies, five. E9 Individual jam tarts, three. E10 Fruit fool, three, served in individual Sundae-type dishes E11 Citrus cheesecake E12 Decorated cup cakes, three. E13 Herb scones, three. E14 Savoury biscuits, five. E15 Chelsea Buns, three. E16 Lemon drizzle cake, 2lb loaf tin. Home made wine and beer E17 Red wine, one bottle. E18 White wine, one bottle. E19 Beer, one bottle. E20 Any liquor, any size bottle. SECTION F: HANDICRAFTS F1 Hello Sunshine, any item of handicraft. F2 An article of knitwear, crochet, embroidery, or counted thread, any style. (Maximum dimensions 60 x 90 cm). F3 A painting or drawing, any media. F4 An item of origami. F5 A handmade stuffed toy. F6 An item of handicraft not included in Classes F2 to F5 (Pottery, carvings...). Page 5
