1 OXTON AND DISTRICT AMATEUR HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY ANNUAL SHOW The Show will be opened and prizes presented at 2.30pm by Mrs Marie White SATURDAY 12 th SEPTEMBER pm Raffle and Auction at 4pm Exhibits should be staged between 8am and 10am Exhibits may be uplifted after 4.30 pm Entry Forms are printed at the back of this Schedule and Show Tickets are enclosed. Further copies of both may be made, or obtained at the door on the day of the Show.

The Society s management shall be by the president, secretary and treasurer and a committee of up to 6 other members. 2. Three committee members shall step down at the AGM, but be eligible for re-election. 3. The president, or committee member chairing the meeting, shall have a casting vote. 4. The Annual General Meeting shall be held in January or February each year. 5. The Society or Show rules may be changed by the Committee at the AGM. 6. Annual membership fee of 3.00 gives free admission to the Show and 3 free exhibit tickets, plus entitlement to join any Society visits and the right to vote at meetings. SHOW RULES 1. Show exhibits must be placed in the hall by 10 am when the doors will be closed for judging. Items should remain on display until 4.30pm. Exhibits may be offered for the auction at 4pm, followed by the raffle. 2. Entry fee: 30p per class. Only one entry per class per exhibitor. 3. Entries must be made on the entry form supplied with the schedule and handed in at the show, with the entry money. 4. All entries must have a society label identifying the exhibitor or they will not be judged. 5. Entries in the Channelkirk schoolchildren s classes will be identified by numbers with a list of names displayed alongside. 6. All vegetables and cut flowers must have been grown by the exhibitor. Part-time gardeners are permissible. 7. Pot plants and plants in tubs and hanging baskets must have been in the entrant s possession for at least 6 weeks before judging (classes 41, 42 & 80-86). 8. Gardening classes (1 & 40-42) are open to residents of Oxton & Channelkirk parish only. They will be visited, unannounced, by a judging panel in late July. The winners names and addresses will be posted on the notice board. 9. Purchased material may be used in floral art classes (classes ). 10. Entries in the Handicraft classes must not be more than one year old. 11. Trophies remain the property of the Society at all times. They should be handed back, in clean condition, to the secretary or treasurer at least a week before the show. 12. es 1, 4, 28, and are not eligible for points. In the event of a tie for points, most firsts will count above seconds, etc. 13. Points and prize money are awarded as follows all classes with noted exceptions: First: 3 points & 80p Second:2 points & 60p Third:1 point & 30p Rosettes will be given for children s classes instead of money. Exceptions: es 1, 2, 3, 20, 28, 40, 41 & 42: First: 4 Second: 3 Third: 2
