The Rules of the RHS Handbook will be observed. Any number of entries may be made in each class, but an exhibitor will not be allowed to take more than one prize in any class. 6 WROUGHTON SPECIAL FLOWER COLLECTION COMPETITION RULES 1, The Wroughton Special Flower Collection class is for a vase of mixed flowering stems containing 2 DIFFERENT KIND OF FLOWERS, 3 OF EACH 2, the vase will be viewed from all directions. Judging of the flowers will be to the normal rules of other classes. 3, Stems used in the display must be flowers only; NO SEED HEADS or BERRIES will be allowed. 4, All vases will be provided 5, No accessories whatsoever such as bows and additional foliage will be allowed. Foliage which is growing naturally from the flowering stem and still attached is allowed 6, The winner of this class will receive 2. The runner-up Third place 75p Notes: Flowering stems can be taken from any flowering plant The different kinds of plant need to be taken from different genera. For instance, pinks carnations and sweet Williams are all dianthus and would not be classed as different kinds Only fresh home grown flowers can be used This class is open to anyone Judges should use their discretion when judging bearing in mind that entries may come from inexperienced exhibitors Collection should be able to be viewed all round Any queries that may arise, regarding anything other than the above rules should be referred to and decided by the show officials Failure to abide by these rules will lead to disqualification WROUGHTON SPECIAL VEGETABLE COLLECTION COMPETITION RULES 1, This class is for a collection of 3 DIFFERENT TYPES OF VEGETABLE, Two of each taken from the following list of seven CARROTS; CAULIFLOWER; ONIONS; PARSNIPS; POTATOES; RUNNER BEANS; TOMATOES; 2, All vegetables are to be displayed for effect. Displayed within an area measuring 45cmx60cm (18x24) without bending any part. No part may exceed the size of the designated area A tray or board can be used to display or an area can be marked out on the staging. Where a tray has a lip or edge, it is the internal measurements that must not exceed the given dimensions. Black cloth is permitted and the tray may be painted. Parsley is allowed for garnishing, but no other foliage or accessories may be used. Onion tops may be tied or whipped using raffia or string 3, The winner of the class will receive 2, The runner-up Third place 75p Notes: 4,The Carrots and parsnips must have foliage trimmed back to 7.5cm (3in) Beans must be displayed with some stalk attached Tomatoes must be displayed with calyces (the green flower bud case) Judges may handle exhibits, open pods etc. to check for quality.
