Verhoed wegdrywing van spuitnewel na ander gewasse, weiding, riviere, damme of areas nie onder behandeling nie. Maak spuitapparaat skoon na gebruik, raak ontslae van uitspoelwater waar dit nie gewasse, riviere en damme kan besoedel nie. Spoel leë houer drie keer uit met 'n volume water gelyk aan ten minste een tiende van dié van die houer en voeg die uitspoelwater by die inhoud van die spuittenk voordat van die houer op die voorgeskrewe metode ontslae geraak word. Vernietig leë houer deur gate in te maak en plat te slaan. Moet vir geen ander doel weer gebruik nie. Voorkom besoedeling van voedsel, voer, drinkwater en eetgerei. WEERSTANDSBESTUUR: Flint Star is 'n groepkode 11 (QoI) en groepkode 9 swamdoder. Enige populasie van 'n spesifieke swam mag individue insluit wat 'n natuurlike weerstand teen Flint Star of enige ander groepkode 11 en groepkode 9 swamdoders het. Indien hierdie swamdoders herhaaldelik aangewend word kan die weerstandbiedende individue uiteindelik die swampopulasie oorheers. Hierdie weerstandbiedende swamme sal waarskynlik nie deur Flint Star of enige ander groepkode 11 en groepkode 9 swamdoders beheer word nie. Om weerstand teen swamdoders te vertraag: Vermy die eksklusiewe herhaaldelike gebruik van swamdoders in dieselfde swamdoder groepkode. Wissel af met produkte van verskillende swamdoder groepkodes. Vir spesifieke inligting oor weerstandsbestuur kontak die registrasiehouer van hierdie produk. FRAC RIGLYNE vir die beheer van skurfsiekte in Appels en Pere: 1. Dien QoI swamdoders toe volgens die vervaardiger se aanbevelings vir die teikensiekte (of kompleks) tydens die spesifieke gewasgroeistadium soos aangedui en aangepas vir die grootte van plante. Effektiewe siektebestuur is krities vir die vertraging van die opbou van weerstandbiedende patogeen populasies. 2. QoI swamdoders moet slegs toegedien word in tenkmengsels met swamdoders wat bydra tot die effektiewe beheer van die teikenpatogene. 3. QoI swamdoders moet voorkomend toegedien word. Onder hoë siektedruk moet die spuitintervalle nie 7-10 dae oorskry nie. 4. Dien 'n maksimum van 3 QoI bevattende swamdoderbespuitings toe per gewas. 'n Maksimum van 4 QoI bespuitings mag toegedien word indien 12 of meer swamdoderbespuitings per gewas toegedien word. 5. Voorkeur moet gegee word aan 'n maksimum van 2 opeenvolgende QoI swamdoderbespuitings. Waar effektiwiteit nadelig beinvloed was, wissel die QoI bevattende swamdodertenkmengsels af met swamdoders wat aan 'n ander kruisweerstandgroep behoort. Verwys na die FRAC Webwerf ( vir die nuutste riglyne. GEBRUIKSBEPERKINGS: Dien toe volgens goeie landboupraktyke: Geïntegreerde Plaagbeheer (GPB) en anti-weerstandsbestuurprogramme. Vir effektiewe siektebeheer dien ten minste twee agtereenvolgende Flint Star bespuitings toe in 'n voorkomende spuitprogram met ander onverwante swamdoders. 'n Maksimum van 3 Flint Star toedienings per gewas per seisoen word aanbeveel.

3 Swamdoder GEBRUIKSAANWYSINGS: GEBRUIK SLEGS SOOS AANGEDUI. VERENIGBAARHEID: Flint Star is mengbaar met Calypso 480 SC (Reg. No. L6763) en Decis Forte (Reg. No. L6563) Flint Star is nie mengbaar met aluminiumbevattende produkte nie. Die verenigbaarheid van Flint Star met ander produkte kan beïnvloed word deur die formulasie van die produkte betrokke asook die kwaliteit van die water. Aangesien die formulasie van ander produkte kan verander sonder die medewete van Bayer en die kwaliteit van die water ook van plaas tot plaas kan varieer, moet 'n fisiese verenigbaarheidstoets altyd uitgevoer word voordat gespuit word. MENGINSTRUKSIES: Verseker dat spuitapparaat skoon is en nie met ander middels gekontamineer is nie. Maak spuittenk half vol met skoon water. Skud die Flint Star houer deeglik onmiddelik voor gebruik. Voeg die benodigde hoeveelheid produk by die water in die tenk terwyl geroer word. Indien Flint Star in 'n tenkmengsel met ander produkte gebruik word, moet dit eerste gemeng word, gevolg deur die ander produkte terwyl geroer word. Vul die spuittenk met water tot by die verlangde vlak terwyl daar voortdurend geroer word om deeglike vermenging te verseker alvorens daar met toediening begin word. Handhaaf roering gedurende toediening. Aangemaakte spuitmengsels moet nie in die spuittenk gelaat word vir 'n onbepaalde tyd nie, bv. oornag. Maak seker dat die mengsel vir 'n paar minute geroer word voordat voortgegaan word met bespuiting na 'n onderbreking van die spuitproses bv. na etenstyd. Die spuitmengsel moet tydens vermenging en toediening voortdurend in roering gehou word. TOEDIENINGSTEGNIEKE: Grondtoediening Flint Star kan met konvensionele spuitapparaat toegedien word. Kalibreer die spuitapparaat voor toediening om te verseker dat die regte dosis gelewer word. Die verspreiding van die spuitvolume moet egalig oor die teikengebied wees. TOEDIENINGSHOEVEELHEDE: BELANGRIK: Verseker dat die korrekte hoeveelheid swamdoder per hektaar toegedien word. Dit word volgens die boomryvolume (BRV) formule bereken (sien onder). Hoë Volume Die water volume wat per hektaar toegedien word, moet volgens die BRV formule bereken word: /ha = Boomhoogte X Boomwydte (diepte) X 937 Rywydte Die BRV berekening gee die watervolume wat benodig word wanneer die bome in volle blad is. Gebruik die watervolume per hektaar om die hoeveelheid Flint Star te bereken wat per hektaar benodig word tydens die verskillende groeistadia van 'n boom gedurende 'n seisoen. So 'n program behoort in aanvang te neem vanaf die groenpuntstadium van die bome met spuitintervalle van 7 tot 10 dae voor blom en 10 tot 14 dae na blom. Alhoewel Flint Star ten enige tyd van die spuitprogram toegedien kan word, is dit raadsaam om toediening tussen blomstadium en vrugset te posisioneer vir optimale beheer. 4 Fungicide WARNINGS: APPLES AND PEARS: ALLOW A MINIMUM OF 35 DAYS BETWEEN LAST APPLICATION AND HARVEST. TO ENSURE THAT MRL's ARE NOT EXCEEDED, DO NOT INCLUDE OTHER TRIFLOXYSTROBIN OR PYRIMETHANIL FORMULATIONS IN THE SPRAY PROGRAMME WITHIN THE SAME SEASON. IF THE CROP TO BE TREATED IS INTENDED FOR EXPORT, CONSULT THE RELEVANT EXPORTING ORGANISATION REGARDING MRL REQUIREMENTS AND WITHHOLDING PERIODS. WHEN THIS PRODUCT IS USED ACCORDING TO THE LABEL RECOMMENDATIONS SET HEREIN, THE LOCAL MRL WILL NOT BE EXCEEDED. BAYER (PTY) LTD CANNOT, HOWEVER, BE HELD LIABLE FOR EXPORT CROPS EXCEEDING THE IMPORT TOLERANCES OF OTHER COUNTRIES. Flint Star has only been tested on the pear cultivar Packham's Triumph and on the apple cultivars Golden Delicious, Royal Gala, Top Red, Granny Smith, Pink Lady, Brookefield and Braeburn. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Poisonous if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Store in original tightly closed containers away from sun and damp in a well ventilated area. Avoid temperatures below -10 ºC and above 35 ºC. Store away from food and feed. Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. RE-ENTRY: Do not enter treated area until spray deposit has dried unless wearing protective clothing. ALTHOUGH THIS REMEDY HAS BEEN EXTENSIVELY TESTED UNDER A LARGE VARIETY OF CONDITIONS THE REGISTRATION HOLDER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT IT WILL BE EFFECTIVE UNDER ALL CONDITIONS BECAUSE THE ACTION AND EFFECT THEREOF MAY BE AFFECTED BY FACTORS SUCH AS ABNORMAL CLIMATIC AND STORAGE CONDITIONS; QUALITY OF DILUTION WATER; COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER SUBSTANCES NOT INDICATED ON THE LABEL AND THE OCCURRENCE OF RESISTANCE OF THE PATHOGEN AGAINST THE REMEDY CONCERNED AS WELL AS BY THE METHOD, TIME AND ACCURACY OF APPLICATION. THE REGISTRATION HOLDER FURTHERMORE DOES NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE TO CROPS, VEGETATION, THE ENVIRONMENT OR HARM TO MAN OR ANIMAL OR FOR LACK OF PERFORMANCE OF THE REMEDY CONCERNED DUE TO FAILURE OF THE USER TO FOLLOW THE LABEL INSTRUCTIONS OR TO THE OCCURRENCE OF CONDITIONS WHICH COULD NOT HAVE BEEN FORESEEN IN TERMS OF THE REGISTRATION. CONSULT THE SUPPLIER IN THE EVENT OF ANY UNCERTAINTY. PRECAUTIONS: Wear protective gloves/ protective clothing/ eye protection/ face protection. Do not inhale fumes or spray mist. Wash contaminated clothing daily. Wash with soap and water after use. Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst mixing, applying or before washing hands and face. Avoid drift of spray mist on to other crops, grazing, rivers, dams and areas not under treatment. Clean applicator after use, dispose of wash water where it will not contaminate crops, grazing, rivers and dams. Rinse empty container three times with a volume water equal to at least one tenth of that of the container and add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before disposing of the container in the prescribed manner. Destroy empty container by perforation and flattening and never use for any other purpose. Prevent contamination of food, feedstuffs, drinking water and eating utensils. RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT: Flint Star is a group code 11 (QoI) and group code 9 fungicide. Any fungus population may contain individuals naturally resistant to Flint Star and other group code 11 and group code 9 fungicides. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungus population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi may not be controlled by Flint Star or any other group code 11 and group code 9 fungicides. To delay fungicide resistance: Avoid exclusive repeated use of fungicides from the same fungicide Group Code. Alternate with products from different fungicide Group Codes. For specific information on resistance management contact the registration holder of this product. FRAC GUIDELINES for the control of Apple and Pear Scab: 1. Apply QoI fungicides according to manufacturer's recommendations for the target disease (or complex) at the specific crop growth stage indicated and adapted to size of trees. Effective disease management is critical in delaying the build-up of resistant pathogen populations. 2. QoI fungicides must be applied only in a mixture with partners contributing to the effective control of the target pathogens. 3. Apply QoI fungicides preventatively. Under high disease pressure the spray interval should not exceed 7-10 days. 4. Apply a maximum of 3 QoI containing fungicide sprays per crop. A maximum of 4 QoI fungicide applications may be used where 12 or more applications are made per crop. 5. A maximum of 2 consecutive QoI fungicide sprays are preferred. Where efficacy was adversely affected, alternate the QoI containing fungicide with fungicides from a different cross-resistant group. Refer to the FRAC Web Site ( for the latest guidelines. USE RESTRICTIONS: Apply according to good agricultural practices: Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and anti-resistant management programmes. For effective disease control apply at least two consecutive applications of Flint Star in a preventive spray programme with unrelated fungicides. A maximum of 3 Flint Star applications per season per crop are recommended. Use only unrelated registered fungicides in combination with Flint Star for control of powdery mildew.

5 Fungicide DIRECTIONS FOR USE: USE ONLY AS DIRECTED. COMPATIBILITY: Flint Star is compatible with Calypso 480 SC (Reg. No. L6763) and Decis Forte (Reg. No. L6563 ). Flint Star is not compatible with aluminium containing products. The compatibility of Flint Star with other products may be influenced by the formulation of the other products involved as well as the quality of the water. Since the formulation of other products may change without the knowledge of Bayer and the quality of water may vary from farm to farm, a physical compatibility test should always be carried out prior to application. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: Ensure that application equipment is clean and not contaminated with other chemicals. Half fill the spray tank with clean water. Shake the Flint Star container thoroughly immediately before use. Add the required volume of product to the water in the tank while agitating. If Flint Star is tank mixed with other products, it should be mixed first, followed by the other products while agitating. Fill the spray tank to the required level with water while maintaining agitation to ensure thorough mixing of the spray mixture before spraying commences. Maintain agitation while spraying. Prepared spray mixture must not be left in the spray tank for any length of time, e.g. overnight. Ensure that agitation takes place for a few minutes prior to commencement of spraying after normal operational stops, e.g., lunch break. Ensure thorough agitation of the mixture in the tank during mixing and spraying. APPLICATION TECHNIQUES: Ground application Flint Star may be applied using conventional spray equipment. Calibrate the apparatus before application to ensure that the correct dosage is applied. The distribution of the spray volume must be uniform throughout the target area. APPLICATION RATES: CROP/DISEASE DOSAGE / 100 WATER APPLES Scab (Venturia inaequalis) Powdery mildew (Podosphaera leucotricha) PEARS Scab (Venturia pirina) REMARKS 40 m Apply Flint Star as part of a preventive spray programme. Such a programme should start from the green tip stage of the trees with spray intervals of 7 to 10 days before flowering and 10 to 14 days after flowering. Although Flint Star can be included during any time of the spray programme, it is advisable to position Flint Star applications between flowering and fruit set in order to achieve optimum control. Apply a maximum of 3 sprays per season. STRICTLY ADHERE TO THE FRAC GUIDELINES IN THE RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT CLAUSE. IMPORTANT: Ensure that the correct amount of fungicide is applied per hectare. This is calculated from the tree row volume (TRV) formula (see below). High Volume: The water volume to be applied per hectare must be calculated according to the TRV formula: /ha = Tree height X Tree width (depth) X 937 Row width The TRV calculation is the water volume required when the trees are in full leaf. Use the water volume required per hectare to calculate the amount of Flint Star required per hectare according to the various growth stages of a tree during the season.
