Re-entry interval: Do not enter treated area until spray deposit has dried unless wearing protective clothing. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions, because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal climatic and storage conditions, quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of a pest against the remedy concerned as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal or lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty. 2

3 PRECAUTIONS Avoid contact with the concentrate. Avoid inhalation of spray mist. Wear face shield when handling concentrate. Wash with soap and water after use. Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst mixing and applying or before washing hands and face. Avoid drift of spray onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams and areas not under treatment. Prevent contamination of food, feedstuffs, eating utensils, drinking water, springs, dams and rivers. Clean spray equipment after use and dispose of wash water in a safe place. Rinse empty container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10% of that of the container. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container in the prescribed manner. Destroy container by perforation and do not use for any other purpose. RESISTANCE WARNING SMITE is a group code 10A insecticide. Any insect population may contain individuals naturally resistant to SMITE and other group code 10A insecticides. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if these insecticides are used repeatedly. These resistant insects may not be controlled by SMITE or any other group code 10A insecticide. To delay insecticide resistance: Avoid exclusive repeated use of insecticides from the same insecticide group code. Alternate or tank mix with products from different insecticide group codes. Integrate the control methods (chemical, cultural, biological) into insect control programmes. For specific information on resistance management contact the registration holder of this product. DIRECTIONS FOR USE (Use only as directed). SMITE is effective for the control fo the egg and immature stages of the red spider mite in apples, pears, tomatoes and roses, European Red Mite (Panonychus ulmi) in apples and pears and various mites in citrus. It does not control adult spider mites. SMITE is moderately slow-acting and should be applied when less than 1 female adult mite per leaf is present, according to apple and pear orchard inspections. Good coverage of all plant surfaces with the spray is essential. SMITE does not adversely affect beneficial predators such as Amblyseius californicus and Oligota. Compatiblity: Since SMITE has not been fully tested in all sequences and combinations of sprays, it is not recommended to tank-mix with any other spray materials until greater experience has been obtained. Do not mix with fungicides. Consult your supplier for up-to-date information on compatibility. 3

4 Mixing Instructions SMITE is a suspension concentrate. SHAKE CONTAINER WELL BEFORE USE. Agitation is necessary to avoid settling during mixing and spraying. Half fill the spray tank with clean water. Measure out the required quantity of SMITE and pre-mix with a small volume of water (1 part SMITE to 10 parts water), before adding to the water in the spray tank. Fill spray tank to the required volume with water. Maintain agitation during spraying. Use prepared spray mixture immediately. Do not allow to stand overnight. 4

Should it be necessary to spray the trees again for mites, use a registered acaricide from a different chemical group. Apply a full cover spray at l spray mixturer/ha, and ensure thorough coverage to the point of run-off. Do not apply more than 1 treatment per season. Apply at the first signs of mite movement when less than 1 adult female mite per leaf is present. This tank mixture can be applied if a rapid knockdown of adult mites is required. Commence application when mites occur. Apply SMITE only once per season. If more than one spray is required to control any of the mites mentioned, use an acaricide from a different chemical group. Alhoewel hierdie middel omvattend onder n groot verskeidenheid toestande getoets is, waarborg die registrasiehouer nie dat dit onder alle toestande doeltreffend sal wees nie aangesien die werking en effek daarvan bëinvloed kan word deur faktore soos abnormale klimaats- en berginstoestande; kwaliteit van verdunningswater, verenigbaarheid met ander stowwe wat nie op die etiket aangedui is nie en die voorkoms van weerstand van die plaag teen die betrokke middel sowel as die metode, tyd en akkuraatheid van toediening. Verder aanvaar die registrasiehouer nie verantwoordelikheid vir skade aan gewasse, plantegroei, die omgewing of vir nadelige effek op mens of dier of vir n gebrek van prestasie van die betrokke middel as gevolg van die versuim van die gebruiker om etiketaanwysings na te kom of as gevolg van die ontstaan van toestande wat nie kragtens die registrasie voorsien kon word nie. Raadpleeg die verskaffer in die geval van enige onsekerheid. VOORSORGMAATREëLS Vermy kontak met die konsentraat. Moet nie die spuitmis inasem nie. Dra gesigskerm wanneer konsentraat hanteer word. Was met seep en water na toediening. Moet nie eet, drink of rook tydens vermenging, toediening of voordat hande en gesig gewas is nie. Voorkom 6

7 wegdrywing van spuitnewel na ander gewasse, weiding, riviere, damme en areas nie onder behandeling nie. Verhoed besoedeling van voedsel, voer, drinkwater en eetgerei asook waterbronne, riviere en damme. Maak spuitapparaat skoon na gebruik en raak van uitspoelwater ontslae op n veilige plek. Spoel leë houer driemaal met n volume water gelyk aan n minimum van 10% van die houer. Voeg spoelwater by die inhoud van spuittenk voor die vernietiging van die houer op die voorgeskrewe metode. Vernietig leë houer deur te breek of gate daarin te maak en moet nooit vir n ander doel gebruik nie. BESTANDHEIDSWAARSKUWING: SMITE is n groepkode 10A insekdoder. Enige populasie van n spesifieke insek mag individue insluit wat n natuurlike weerstand teen SMITE of enige ander groepkode 10A insekdoder het. Indien hierdie insekdoders herhaaldelik aangewend word, kan die weerstandbiedende individue uiteindelik die insek populasie oorheers. Hierdie weerstandbiedende insekte sal waarskynlik nie deur SMITE of enige ander groepkode 10A insekdoder beheer word nie Om weerstand teen insekdoders te vertraag: Vermy die eksklusiewe herhaaldelike gebruik van insekdoders met dieselfde groepkode. Wissel af met, of gebruik tenkmengsels van produkte in verskillende insekdoder groepkodes. Integreeg ander beheermaatreels (chemies, verbouing, biologies) in insekdodoer programme. Vir spesifieke inligting oor weerstandsbestuur kontak die registrasiehouer van hierdie produk. GEBRUIKSAANWYSINGS (Gebruik slegs soos aangedui) SMITE is effektief vir die beheer van die eier en onvolwasse fases van rooispinmyt in appels, pere, tamaties en rose, Europese rooimyt (Panonychus ulmi) in appels en pere en verskeie myte in sitrus. Volwasse myte word nie beheer nie. SMITE is redelik stadigwerkend en behoort toegedien te word voordat die populasie die vlak van een volwasse wyfie myt per blaar bereik, gegrond op appel- en peerboordinspeksies. Goeie spuitbedekking van alle plantoppervlakke is noodsaaklik. SMITE is nie nadelig vir voordelige predatore soos Amblyseius californicus en Oligota nie. Verenigbaarheid Aangesien SMITE nog nie in alle kombinasies van spuitmengsels bewys is nie, word daar aanbeveel om dit nie saam met ander spuitmengsels in die spuittenk te gebruik nie totdat daar meer ondervinding beskikbaar is. Moet nie met swamdoders meng nie. Raadpleeg u handelaar vir die jongste inligting oor verenigbaarheid. Menginstruksies SMITE is n suspensiekonsentraat. SKUD HOUER DEEGLIK VOOR GEBRUIK Dit is nodig dat die spuitmengsel gedurig geroer word tydens menging en bespuiting. Maak die spuittenk halfvol met skoon water, meet die benodigde SMITE uit en maak n voormengsel met n klein volume water (een deel SMITE op tien dele water) voor dit by die water in die spuittenk gevoeg word. Giet dit in die spuittenk en vul die tenk verder tot die verlangde volume met water, terwyl geroer word. Behou roer-aksie gedurende bespuiting. Gebruik al die spuitmengsel wat gemeng is dadelik en moet nie oornag laat staan nie. 7

8 GEWAS DOSIS OPMERKINGS ROSE 25-50ml/100l water Dien toe by eerste tekens van mytbesmetting met hoë Rooispinmyt druk voldekbespuiting. Goeie bedekking is noodsaaklik. Wanneer die 25ml dosis gebruik word, word 2 bespuitings 7 dae uitmekaar aanbeveel. Herhaal soos benodig. APPLES EN PERE 35ml/100l water Dien toe by die eerste tekens van mytbesmetting Rooispinmyt minder as 1 volwasse wyfiemyt per blaar (November tot Januarie) met n hoë druk voldekbespuiting tot by die punt van afloop. Goeie bedekking is noodsaaklik. Europese Rooimyt (Panonychus ulmi) SMITE sal bydra tot die beheer van Bryobiamyt (Bryobia rubrioculus) indien dit voorkom wanneer daar vir ander myte gespuit word. Indien dit nodig is om weer te spuit vir myte, gebruik n geregistreerde TAMATIES Rooispinmyt mytdoder van n ander chemiese groep. Die plante moet deeglik benat word, tot by die punt van afloop as vol dekbespuiting teen, in l spuitmengsel / ha. Moet nie meer as een toediening per seisoen doen nie. SITRUS Sitrusrooimyt (Panonychus citri) en laeveldmyt (Eutetranychus orientalis) Platmyt (Brevipalpus californicus) Roesmyt (Phyllocoptruta oleivora) 40ml/100l water OF 30ml + 30ml Meothrin (L6385) / 100l water 50ml / 100l water 30ml / 100l water 30ml / 100l water Dien toe by die eerste tekens van mytbesmetting, wanneer minder as 1 volwasse wyfie per blaar voorkom. Die tenkemengsel kan gebruik word in gevalle waar n vinnige uitklop van die volwasse myte verlang word. Boorde moet gereeld vir myte gemonitor word, en bespuitings moet begin sodra die myte waargeneem word. Dien SMITE slegs eenkeer per seisoen. Indien meer as een bespuiting benodig word om enige van die genoemde myte te beheer, gebruik n mytdoder van n ander chemie groep. Verseker deeglike benatting van die bome.
