20 Moving Forward The City has defined a Phased Design Approach: Phase I: Immediate Year Construction Identify locations for canopy trees to be planted immediately, from Horizon Way to Seagate; develop neighborhood consensus. Phase II: Future Year(s) Construction Identify potential locations for canopy trees by widening medians at parking areas, from Horizon Way to Seagate; obtain consensus from neighborhood. Phase III: Optional (future years) Identify locations along roadway shoulders, co-operative effort with adjacent property owners

35 LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT S RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Develop a vision for the complete street. Take a big-picture approach to the design process; develop a Master Plan for both the northern and southern segments. Design from ROW to ROW to explore all opportunities to achieve neighborhood goals, including road shoulder areas. 2. Develop a consensus design plan. Actively solicit neighborhood participation and input at key points, building a consensus for the plan; make the process accessible by everyone on the street. 3. Phase the construction. Build out as funding becomes available. Master Plan approach ensures that phases fit together as they are built.
