Lower the cnister onto the floor nozzle until it clicks securely into plce. (Fig. 8) When ttching the motorized floor nozzle, ensure tht the ltching mechnism is fully locked in plce to ensure electricl connection hs been mde. 3 Insert the wnd into the tube on the bck of the cnister, pressing until it clicks securely into plce. (Fig. 9) 4 Align the tb in the ccessory holder () with the groove in the wnd, then slide the holder down over the wnd. (Fig. 10) 5 Push the hndle (b) onto the top of the wnd until it clicks into plce. (Fig. 10) 6 Insert the end of the stretch hose (c) into the connector on the bck of the cnister. (Fig. 10) 7 Store the dusting brush (d) nd the crevice tool (e) on the mounts of the ccessory holder. (Fig. 10) POWER CORD: 1 Rotte the upper cord clip to quickly relese the power cord. 2 Secure the power cord by wrpping it round the cord clips (). (Fig. 11) SETTINGS: = Brushroll ON = Bre Floor = OFF Fig Press the Selector switch (b) to Setting I to vcuum bre floors (stright suction only) or to Setting II to engge the brushroll (for vcuuming crpets nd rugs). (Fig. 11) Fig. 12 BRUSHROLL INDICATOR LIGHT: 1 The brushroll indictor light (c) will illuminte green when the brushroll is on, or red if there is blockge or jm. (Fig. 11) This feture is designed to protect your Lifetime Belt tht powers your brushroll. See Checking for Blockges on pge To ctivte the brushroll, step lightly on the floor nozzle, then tilt the hndle bck. (Fig. 12) NOTE: The brushroll will not spin unless the nozzle is flt ginst the floor nd the hndle is tilted bck. 3 Increse or decrese suction power by djusting the suction relese collr (d) on the hndle. (Fig. 11) If the vcuum seems difficult to push or pull, or if it is lifting up re rugs, reduce suction by rotting the collr counterclockwise. To increse suction nd to vcuum floors, rotte the collr clockwise. 4 Empty dust cup fter vcuuming nd periodiclly during use when it ppers full. (See Mintennce section for instructions.) 5 When you re finished vcuuming, move the switch to the Off position. 8 shrkclen.com 9

6 LIFT-AWAY MODE Use the hndle on top of the dust cup to esily lift nd crry the cnister. Fig. 16 ABOVE-FLOOR CLEANING 1 Press the hndle relese button to detch the hndle or press the wnd relese button to detch the wnd. 2 Attch desired ccessory onto the end of either the wnd or the hndle. (Fig. 15) 3 Your vcuum hs tremendous suction power. Increse or decrese suction power by djusting the suction relese collr on the hndle. To reduce suction for lighter jobs such s clening delicte surfces like drpes, rotte the collr counterclockwise. To increse suction when clening floors or using ccessories, rotte the collr clockwise. (Fig. 15) 4 Move the selector switch to Setting I for bove-floor clening. LIFT-AWAY CLEANING WITH NOZZLE 1 Press the wnd relese button nd pull the wnd up. 2 Attch floor nozzle onto the end of the wnd. (Fig. 16) 3 Move the selector switch to the Setting I. NOTE: The brushroll will not spin in Lift- Awy mode. b Fig. 13 LIFT AWAY DETACHABLE CANISTER FOR PORTABLE CLEANING 1 Press the Lift-Awy button, then lift the cnister off the floor nozzle. 2 To clen with the hndle, press the Hndle Relese button () nd lift the hndle out of the wnd. To clen with longer rech, press the Wnd Relese button (b) nd lift off the wnd. Clip the plug onto the cord to secure. (Fig. 17) 3 Store the dusting brush nd the crevice tool on the mounts on the ccessory holder. 4 Store your vcuum clener sfely in cool, dry re where it will not be hzrd, will not be dmged, nd will not cuse dmge to nyone or nything. NOTE: Empty dust cup fter clening nd prior to storing. (See Mintennce section for instructions.) EMPTYING THE DUST CUP The dust cup needs to be emptied ech time you vcuum nd periodiclly during clening, when the dust cup ppers full. 1 Remove the dust cup by lifting the side ltches. (Fig. 18) 2 Hold the dust cup over trsh receptcle nd press the bottom door relese button. (Fig. 19) Tp gently to empty contents. Press the door shut gin until it clicks. 3 If needed, turn the dust cup upside down over the trsh receptcle nd press the top door relese button. (Fig. 20) Tp gently to remove contents. Debris my get stuck to the screen filter inside the dust cup. Use dry cloth or pper towel to remove debris. Press the top door shut gin until it clicks. 4 Replce the dust cup on top of the cnister. Hook the two ltches onto the tbs on the sides of the dust cup nd push down to lock. CLEANING THE PRE-MOTOR FILTERS 1 Remove the dust cup. 2 Pull the 2 filters out from the top of the cnister. (Fig. 21) 3 Rinse the filters thoroughly in lukewrm wter until the wter runs cler. NOTE: The mteril in the filter will discolor over time. This is norml nd will not ffect the performnce of the filter. 4 Squeeze out excess wter nd let ir-dry for t lest 24 hours before replcing. DO NOT use hir dryer or other heting methods to dry. 5 Reinsert the felt filter first, then the fom filter. 6 Replce the dust cup. 12 shrkclen.com 13

8 MAINTENANCE - CONT'D Brushroll Mke sure you re working in well-lit re nd use flshlight to help serch for blockges. Fig. 23 Fig. 22 Fig. 24 CLEANING THE POST-MOTOR HEPA FILTER 1 Remove the filter cover from the front of the vcuum by lifting the tb to pull the cover wy from the vcuum. (Fig. 22) 2 Pull the HEPA filter stright out. 3 Turn the filter over so tht the dirty side is on the bottom. Tp it vigorously ginst the inside of trsh receptcle to knock off ny dust. (Fig. 23) 4 With the dirty side down, rinse the HEPA filter with lukewrm tp wter until the wter runs cler. (Fig. 24) NOTE: The mteril in the filter will discolor over time. This is norml nd will not ffect the performnce of the filter. 5 Allow the filter to ir-dry for 24 hours. DO NOT use hir dryer or other heting methods to dry. 6 When the HEPA filter is completely dry, reinstll it. 7 Replce the cover by inserting the two tbs into the holes t the top nd then swinging the cover down until it clicks into plce. Fig. 25 CLEANING THE BRUSHROLL When your brushroll needs clening or locks onto n object, it utomticlly shuts down. The indictor light will illuminte red, wrning you to turn off the vcuum nd cler the blockge immeditely. The light will reset once the blockge hs been clered nd power hs been cycled on nd off or the vcuum hs been locked in the upright position. 1 Detch the motorized floor nozzle from the cnister. 2 Inspect the irwy nd the brushroll. Remove ny debris buildup. With scissors, crefully cut wy ny fibers or hir wrpped round the brushroll. Avoid dmging or cutting the bristles. (Fig. 25) Fig. 26 Fig. 27 CLEANING THE AIR-DRIVEN PET POWER BRUSH 1 Slide the locking ltch () forwrd nd lift off the brushroll housing. (Fig. 26) 2 Crefully remove ny blockge or debris nd use scissors to cut wy ny buildup of hir or string wrpped round the brushroll. 3 To ressemble, insert the tbs on the front edge of the brushroll housing into the mtching holes in the top hlf nd tilt it bck down until it clicks into plce. (Fig. 27) Fig. 28 CHECKING FOR BLOCKAGES Blockges my cuse your vcuum to overhet nd shut down. To prevent this from hppening, check potentil blockge res fter hevy use, or if you detect loss of suction or poor clening performnce. 1 Dust Cup Dust cup my be full. Empty dust cup. 2 Pre-Motor & Post-Motor Filters Pre-motor filters require wshing every 3 months for optimum performnce. The post-motor HEPA filter needs to be wshed every 2 yers. Ensure tht ll the filters re clen. 3 Accessories Check intke openings: - Wnd - Dusting Brush - Crevice Tool - Air-Driven Pet Power Brush Fig. 29 Fig Hose nd Connections to Vcuum Detch the stretch hose from the bck of the cnister by squeezing the tbs together nd pulling up. (Fig. 28) Strighten out the hose nd look inside for blockges. Remove the dust cup nd wnd nd detch the cnister from the motorized floor nozzle. Look in ll 4 openings for ny blockges. (Fig. 29) 5 Motorized Floor Nozzle Detch the hose on the motorized floor nozzle. Pull the bottom of the hose out of the connector, nd relese the top of the hose by squeezing the tbs together. 9 ORDERING ADDITIONAL PARTS TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE PROBLEM Vcuum is not picking up dirt. Vcuum lifts re rugs (lightweight, movble rugs). Airflow is restricted. No suction or light suction. Brushroll does not spin. POSSIBLE REASONS & SOLUTIONS Check filters to see if they need clening. Follow instructions for rinsing nd drying the filters before reinserting bck into the vcuum. (See Mintennce sections for instructions.) Dust cup my be full; empty dust cup. Check hose nd hose connections for blockges; cler blockges if required. If dust cup is empty, nd ttchment inlets re cler, check for other blockges. (See Checking for Blockges for instructions.) Suction is powerful. Tke cre when vcuuming re rugs or rugs with delictely sewn edges. Rotte the suction relese collr on the hndle counterclockwise to decrese suction power. Move the selector switch to Setting I (Bre Floor) to disengge the brushroll Check filters to see if they need clening. Follow instructions for rinsing nd drying the filters before reinserting bck into the vcuum. Dust cup my be full; empty dust cup. Check hose, hose connections, nozzles, nd ccessories for blockges; cler blockges if required. Rotte the suction relese collr on the hndle clockwise to increse suction power. If dust cup is empty, nd ttchment inlets re cler, check for other blockges. Immeditely turn off nd unplug vcuum, disconnect the nozzle, nd remove ny blockge before reconnecting nd turning vcuum bck on. Step lightly on the floor nozzle nd tilt the hndle bck to engge the brushroll. Move the selector switch to Setting II (Brushroll). This vcuum clener is equipped with motor protective thermostt. If for some reson your vcuum overhets, the thermostt will utomticlly turn the unit off. Should this occur, perform the following steps to restrt the motor thermostt: 1. Move the selector switch to the Off position. 2. Unplug the vcuum. 3. Empty dust cup nd clen filters. 4. Check for blockges in hose, ccessories, nd inlet openings. 5. Allow the unit to cool for minimum of 45 minutes. 6. Plug in vcuum. 7. Move the selector switch to Setting I (Bre Floor) to restrt the vcuum.
