3 2. BATTERY & CHARGING (SOLD SEPARATELY) Fitting Trimmer Hed CAUTION: THE BLADE HAS SHARP EDGES. FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, PLEASE WEAR WORK GLOVES. 1. Align the Trimmer hed nd the motor hed so the rrows on oth coincide. CAUTION: THE CHARGER FOR THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE PROTECTED BY A RESIDUAL CURRENT DEVICE (RATED AT 30mA OR LESS). The purchsed ttery will e shipped in low chrge condition, nd requires chrging prior to use. Allow severl cycles of chrging nd dischrging (through use of the tool) for the ttery to rech its optimum performnce / runtime. Chrging your lithium ion ttery - Fst Chrger 1. Connect the chrger into mins power outlet. 2. () Press the trimmer hed ginst the motor hed. This will cuse the lock utton to e pushed to the Lock Button right. () Turn the trimmer hed clockwise. The trimmer hed will lock onto the motor hed nd is then secured in plce. Note: The Lock Button will CLICK ck to the left (originl position) when the trimmer hed is correctly secured in plce. 2. The chrger LED will flsh green showing power is eing supplied to the chrger. 3. With the chrger sitting on flt surfce, lign the rised ris on the ttery with the recess in the chrger nd slide onto the chrger ensuring firm connection. 4. The chrger LED will illuminte red signifying tht the ttery is chrging. 5. The chrger LED will illuminte green once the ttery is fully chrged. 4 3. PREPARATION Chrging your lithium ion ttery - Eco Chrger 1. Connect the chrger into mins power outlet. 2. The chrger LED will flsh green showing power is eing supplied to the chrger. 3. With the ttery sitting on flt surfce, lign the rised ris on the ttery with the recess in the chrger nd slide onto the ttery ensuring firm connection. Adjusting the telescope length 1. To unlock the telescopic tue lock, twist it in clockwise direction while pointing the trimmer lde wy from the user. Note: The locking nd unlocking directions re indicted on the locking collr. 2. Pull out the telescopic tues to suit the required working height. 4. The chrger LED will illuminte red signifying tht the ttery is chrging. 5. When removing the chrger from the ttery, first press the ttery relese t, then slide the chrger from its position. Bttery Chrge Indictor The purchsed ttery is equipped with ttery chrge indictor to show the stte of the ttery chrge. Press the chrge indictor utton nd look to see which LED lights. 3. To lock in the desired position, twist the telescopic tue lock in counterclockwise direction. Adjusting the Rer Hndle 1. Press the two pivoting hndle releses, one ech side nd djust the ngle of the hndle up or down to ny of 4 positions. Adjusting the Additionl Hndle 1. () Open the hndle lever nd set the required () tilt of the dditionl hndle, close to lock into position. 2. () Open the mounting rcket lever nd () slide the dditionl hndle into the required position, close to lock into position. Bttery requires immedite chrging Low stte of chrge, requires chrging soon. Mid stte of chrge Full stte of chrge. Note: The ttery needs to e removed from the tool to check the stte of chrge.

5 4. INSERTING & REMOVING THE BATTERY Pivoting the Trimmer Hed 1. Press the two pivoting hed releses, one ech side nd djust the ngle of the trimmer hed up or down to ny of 7 positions. Instlling Bttery into the Pole Trimmer 1. Align the ris of the ttery with the recess elow the hndle. Attching the Shoulder Strp 1. Fsten to the shoulder strp holder on the min tue. 2. Slide the ttery in so tht it clicks into plce. 2. Wer the shoulder strp so tht it lies over the left shoulder. Removing Bttery from the Pole Trimmer 1. 6 OPERATION 5. SWITCHING ON/OFF Switching On 1. Hold the pole hedge trimmer firmly with oth hnds. Trimming Working position. Mintin proper footing nd lnce nd do not overrech. Wer sfety goggles, non-slip footwer nd ruer gloves when trimming. Hold the pole hedge trimmer firmly in oth hnds efore turning the pole hedge trimmer on. Alwys hold the pole hedge trimmer with one hnd on the rer hndle nd one hnd on the uxiliry hndle. 2. Slide the switch lock () to the front with your thum nd hold, then squeeze the trigger switch (). 3. The lde will now e running redy to mke cut. Relese the switch lock (). Trimming new growth. Using wide sweeping motion, feed the lde teeth through the twigs. A slight downwrd tilt of the lde, in the direction of motion gives the est cut. 15 Switching Off 3. Relese the trigger switch. The lde nd motor will quickly stop. Note: Do not use the pole hedge trimmer for cutting stems greter thn 12mm. Use the trimmer only for cutting norml shruery found round houses nd uildings. Level hedges. To otin exceptionlly level hedges piece of string cn e stretched long the length of the hedge s guide. Side-trimming hedges. Hold the pole hedge trimmer nd egin t the ottom nd sweep up. Cutting sequence. First cut oth sides, strting t the ottom nd work to the top: this prevents cuttings from flling into the re where you re still working. APPLICATIONS Trimming the top.
