Electricl Components Before instlling, servicing, or clening unit, switch power off t service pnel nd lock service pnel to prevent power from ecoming switched on ccidentlly. When the service disconnecting mens cnnot e locked, securely fsten prominent wrning device such s tg to the service pnel. Re-Roofing Soltue products require specil cre if removed for re-roofing. 4 Dylighting Systems Instlltion Tips (Continued) Allow t lest 2-3 hours for the instlltion, prticulrly if this is your first instlltion. During the dy, turn off ll the lights in the room to see how much nturl light comes in through the windows, nd determine the est position for the Soltue Dylighting System. To light specific re, plce the system over the re, not in the center of the room. This will prevent the desired re from eing shded y tll ojects in the room. Mesure the distnce etween the roof nd the ceiling. If you don t hve enough tuing, contct your Soltue Interntionl representtive for dditionl tuing. Avoid roof loctions shded y trees, ridges nd chimneys, or ner wter chnnels or vlleys. Also void roof res with ostructions such s fire sprinklers, HVAC equipment, gs, wter or drin pipes, ir ducts or flues nd mke sure tht the roof is dequte to endure n instlltion without dmging its wterproofing properties or wekening the uilding structure. All dhesives, sels nd tpes re recommended to e pplied to clen nd dry surfce t minimum of 70 F (21 C) for mximum performnce. Foil tpe contins pressure sensitive dhesive nd pressure must e pplied t ll sems for proper onding. Foil tpe is not intended for use s structurl support of the extension tues. For structurl integrity use mnufcturer supplied fsteners on ll overlpping extension tue joints. 5 Soltue Smrt LED System Opertion This section descries the ehvior of the Soltue Smrt LED Dylight Sensor nd the optionl Occupncy Sensor. The Soltue Smrt LED System comes equipped stndrd with Dylight Sensor, nd optionl Occupncy Sensor. Soltue Smrt LED System nd Wll Switch Functionlity The wll switch must e in the on position for the LEDs to function. The wll switch in the off position will override oth sensors, preventing the LEDs from turning on. Soltue Smrt LED System with Dylight Sensor only The Dylight Sensor is stndrd feture in ll models tht continuously monitors light levels. When the wll switch is in the on position, the LEDs will turn on immeditely when dylight levels re insufficient. The Dylight Sensor will continue checking light levels until dylight levels remin sufficient for period of 5 minutes. After the 5 minute period, the LEDs will turn off. The Dylight Sensor continues monitoring light levels unless the wll switch is in the off position. Soltue Smrt LED System with Dylight Sensor nd Occupncy Sensor When instlled with the optionl Occupncy Sensor the LEDs will not turn on unless the following three conditions re ll met: The wll switch is in the on position. The Occupncy Sensor detects n occupnt within its rnge. The Dylight Sensor detects insufficient light levels. Exmple 1: If the Dylight Sensor detects insufficient light ut the Occupncy Sensor does not detect n occupnt in its rnge the LEDs will not come on. Exmple 2: If the Occupncy Sensor detects n occupnt ut the Dylight Sensor detects sufficient light levels the LEDs will not come on. Once the LEDs hve een turned on, oth the Dylight Sensor nd Occupncy Sensor will continue to monitor their individul functions until one of them detects chnge such s incresed light level or the occupnt leves. Either one of these chnges must remin constnt for 5 minutes for the LEDs to turn off. The cycle strts over t tht time. Both sensors must detect chnge to turn the LEDs on, ut only one sensor needs to detect chnge to turn them off. Soltue Smrt LED System Check with Dylight Sensor Only Prior to system check ensure the wll witch is in the off position nd ll power is off efore ttching the DC connector to the primry unit to prevent dmge to the Soltue Smrt LED System. The following system checks should e performed to verify proper functionlity of the system. If ny filures occur during the system check verify ll electricl connections nd repet system check. When testing the Soltue Smrt LED System use cre to prevent dmge to the Dylight Sensor nd the Light Optimiztion Lens. Use cution when hndling Amplifier to prevent dmge to reflective mteril. Do not use tpe or dhesives to cover the Dylight Sensor to prevent dmge. Once instlled follow the directions elow ccording to the outside light conditions. For right, sunny conditions (LEDs off) cover the Dylight Sensor with the Dylight Sensor Cover to trigger LEDs. See exmple shown on next pge. Remove the Dylight Sensor Cover nd wit for pproximtely 5 minutes. If dylight levels remin sufficient during this period the LEDs will turn off. For cloudy, overcst conditions (LEDs on) shine right light onto the top of the Dylight Sensor for pproximtely 5 minutes nd the LEDs will turn off. 6 Soltue Smrt LED System Check with Dylight Sensor & Occupncy Sensor Prior to system check ensure the wll witch is in the off position nd ll power is off efore ttching the DC connector to the primry unit to prevent dmge to the Soltue Smrt LED System. For optimum Occupncy Sensor functionlity perform the following system check in the order specified. Step 1: Test Occupncy Sensor (Occupied Spce) Ensure the wll switch is in the off position. Leve the provided Dylight Sensor Cover in plce. Switch the wll switch to the on position nd wlk into the rnge of the occupncy sensor. The LEDs will turn on. Step 1: Test Occupncy Sensor (Unoccupied Spce) Exit spce nd sty out of the rnge of the occupncy sensor for pproximtely 5 minutes. The LEDs will turn off. Step 2: Test Dylight Sensor Wll switch remins in on position. Wlk into the rnge of the occupncy sensor. The LEDs will turn on. Remove Dylight Sensor Cover. If right, sunny conditions re present the LEDs will turn off in pproximtely 5 minutes. If cloudy, overcst conditions re present shine right light onto the top of the Dylight Sensor for pproximtely 5 minutes.
