2 . THE FOLLOWING SHOULD ALWAYS BE OBSERVED FOR SAFETY Plese provide n exclusive circuit for the ir conditioner nd mke sure tht no other electricl pplinces re connected to it. Be sure to red THE FOLLOWING SHOULD ALWAYS BE OBSERVED FOR SAFETY efore instlling the ir conditioner. Be sure to oserve the cutions specified here s they include importnt items relted to sfety. The indictions nd menings re s follows. Wrning: Could led to deth, serious injury, etc. Cution: Could led to serious injury in prticulr environments when operted incorrectly. After reding this mnul, e sure to keep it together with the instruction mnul in hndy plce on the customer s site. Wrning Do not instll it y yourself (customer). Incomplete instlltion could cuse injury due to fire, electric shock, the unit flling or lekge of wter. Consult the deler from whom you purchsed the unit or specil instller. Instll the unit securely in plce which cn er the weight of the unit. When instlled in n insufficient strong plce, the unit could fll cusing injury. Use the specified wires to connect the indoor nd outdoor units securely nd ttch the wires firmly to the terminl lock connecting sections so the stress of the wires is not pplied to the sections. Incomplete connecting nd fixing could cuse fire. Do not use intermedite connection of the power cord or the extension cord nd do not connect mny devices to one AC outlet. It could cuse fire or n electric shock due to defective contct, defective insultion, exceeding the permissile current, etc. Check tht the refrigernt gs does not lek fter instlltion hs completed. If refrigernt gs leks indoors, nd comes into contct with the fire of fn heter, spce heter, stove, etc., hrmful sustnces will e generted. Perform the instlltion securely referring to the instlltion mnul. Incomplete instlltion could cuse personl injury due to fire, electric shock, the unit flling or lekge of wter. Erth the unit. Do not connect the erth to gs pipe, wter pipe, lightning rod or telephone erth. Defective erthing could cuse n electric shock. Do not instll the unit in plce where n inflmmle gs leks. If gs lek nd ccumulte in the re surrounding the unit, it could cuse n explosion. Instll n erth lekge reker depending on the instlltion plce (Where it is humid). If n erth lekge reker is not instlled, it could cuse n electric shock. Perform electricl work ccording to the instlltion mnul nd e sure to use n exclusive circuit. If the cpcity of the power circuit is insufficient or there is incomplete electricl work, it could result in fire or n electric shock. Attch the electricl prt cover to the indoor unit nd the service pnel to the outdoor unit securely. If the electricl prt cover in the indoor unit nd/ or the service pnel in the outdoor unit re not ttched securely, it could result in fire or n electric shock due to dust, wter, etc. Be sure to use the prt provided or specified prts for the instlltion work. The use of defective prts could cuse n injury or lekge of wter due to fire, n electric shock, the unit flling, etc. Be sure to cut off the min power in cse of setting up the indoor electronic control P.C. ord or wiring works. It could cuse n electric shock. The pplince shll e instlled in ccordnce with ntionl wiring regultions. When instlling or relocting the unit, mke sure tht no sustnce other thn the specified refrigernt (R40A) enters the refrigernt circuit. Any presence of foreign sustnce such s ir cn cuse norml pressure rise or n explosion. Cution Perform the dringe/piping work securely ccording to the instlltion mnul. If there is defect in the dringe/piping work, wter could drop from the unit nd household goods could e wet nd dmged. Fsten flre nut with torque wrench s specified in this mnul. When fstened too tight, flre nut my roken fter long period nd cuse lekge of refrigernt SELECTING THE INSTALLATION LOCATION 2- INDOOR UNIT Where irflow is not locked. Where cool ir spreds over the entire room. Mximum refrigernt piping length etween indoor unit nd outdoor unit is 30 m nd the difference of height of oth units is 5 m. Rigid wll or ceiling without virtion. Where it is not exposed to direct sunshine. Where esily drined. At distnce m or more wy from your TV nd rdio. Opertion of the ir conditioner interferes with rdio or TV reception in res where reception is wek. An mplifier my e required for the ffected device. In distnce s fr s possile from fluorescent nd incndescent lights (so the infrred remote control cn operte the ir conditioner normlly). Where the ir filter cn e removed nd replced esily. 2-2 WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROLLER MOUNTING Plce of mounting - Where it is esy to operte nd esily visile. - Where children cnnot touch. Mounting Select position out.2 m ove the floor, check tht signls from the controller re surely received y the indoor unit from tht position ( eep or eep-eep receiving tone sounds), ttch remote controller holder 4 to pillr or wll, then set the wireless remote controller 3. In rooms where inverter type fluorescent lmps re used, the signl from the wireless remote controller my not e received. 2-3 OUTDOOR UNIT Where it is not exposed to strong wind. Where irflow is good nd dustless. Where it is not exposed to rin nd direct sunshine. Where neighours re not nnoyed y opertion sound or hot ir. Where rigid wll or support is ville to prevent the increse of opertionl sound or virtion. Where there is no risk of comustile gs lekge. 330 mm 500 mm Air outlet 840 mm When instlling the unit t high level, e sure to fix the unit legs. 4-0 mm 2 mm slot Where it is t lest 3 m wy from the ntenn of TV set or rdio. Opertion of the ir conditioner interferes with rdio or TV reception in res where reception is wek. An mplifier my e required for the ffected device. Instll the unit horizontlly. Plese instll it in n re not ffected y snowfll or lowing snow. In res with hevy snow, plese instll cnopy, pedestl nd/or some ffle ords. Note: It is dvisle to mke piping loop ner outdoor unit so s to reduce virtion trnsmitted from there. Cution: Avoid the following plces for instlltion where ir conditioner troule is lile to occur. Where flmmle gs could lek. Where there is much mchine oil. Slty plces such s the seside. Where sulfide gs is generted such s hot spring. Where there is high-frequency or wireless equipment. 360 mm
